That was fun. I didn't really understand why we need the vine because it seems less strong than the bombs. I really like the cards and the little music is well chosen. I think the idea fits the theme and it's cool to see a card game. The menu and UI are well done too!

Nice card game, the controls were a bit clunky at times.

coke 2024-04-16 00:29

@pe7e uh, I think the sound effect caused that, they only play when the same source's are not playing. Thanks for the feedback!

@elbbard I think it's a bad balancing between Fire Blast and Vine Strike. Fire Blast can only target the object in front of you, and you can't attack enemies before save the bee(or without save the bee). Thank you for your feedback!

I beated the game with 5 fire balls! (And yes I killed all the bees) Very interesting idea and levels. I hope I can retry the level I failed with a different deck. You did well on art and audio too, noice job.

The game itself is nice and well made but just like other have said it is not balanced. Apart from that I like the game.

derllie 2024-04-17 11:25

i love this 2d graphics!

the4thcircle 2024-04-17 11:29

Quite a fun mechanic, I think I picked the wrong deck because I never saved the bee and could not kill the aphids. They spawned faster than I could kill them.

poutine-studio 2024-04-18 11:28

Cool game. The graphic and sounds were great! The gameplay too. Good Job!

Graphics and music made for a really nice and immersive mood! Def some wonky balance but I can totally see the vision in the gameplay loop. Very nice jam game!

@val-ociraptor Thank you!

I didn't understand at first that the critter at the left was the player character. I thought that it was a first person camera, and that the bee was in the middle and both enemies would come after it from the left and the right. And when I moved the bee with the tornado I didn't understand why the fire blast still told me that the bee was in front of me. I think what made me think that is that the player's life is the same color as the enemies. Maybe if you made it green it would be more clearer which one is the player character. Maybe even make the bee's life bar green or yellow to differentiate it from the enemies. I really liked the card art and the music is interesting but a bit dissonant for some reason. I found the positional mechanic of having allies in the field (the bee) and having to avoid friendly fire very innovative, but although I managed to beat the game I couldn't save the bee even once, perhaps it is too hard. Grats!

@andriybyelikov Thanks for the feedback! And actually there are so many stuffs I don't considered too careful. Many people doesn't figure out which one is player and how to save the bee properly :>

gametrodon 2024-04-20 17:18

I like the concept. Some thoughts.

It feels bad to lose because your starting deck didn't have cards you didn't realize you'd need later. (Ex: I didn't take any fireballs, and pretty much insta-lossed to aphids.)

Also, I didn't seem to get any extra cards to pick from after saving the bee? Not sure what happened there.

ilbini 2024-04-20 17:24

Good entry, i killed the bee everytime until i completed the game and read the description. Maybe a little more feedback in game for that could work.

Also i had troubles with the insect that kept multiplying, it got me in an almost stuck state where it took me long to defeat it but it was impossible for them to kill me unless missclick (which happened for trying to speedrun that kills), so that could be improved also. My deck was 2 vines, 2 fireballs and 1 wind.

The graphics and sounds are great, i had fun so good work!

I really enjoyed the spark I felt in the realization in how crucial the Tornado card! My first playthrough involved the me spamming Fire blasts, resulting on the Bee i was meant to save, being my firstblood. Then i read how the fireblast only targetd the unit infront of the queue. I had then filtered fireblast to be the most uselss card. Then i started getting a feel for the tornado card and saw the light. After that, the game showed its strategic aspect and became engaging!

Fun entry!

On my 2nd playthrough i decided to apply the "+1" dmg to a tornado card thinking it could tecnically become an AOE. When I first drew said upgraded tornado, I wondered what would happen if i pushed the Bee into me with it and the game crashed! Below I've shared the logs in the console.

@gametrodon Thank you for your feedback! If you don't save bee, there will have no upgrade to cards. Deck building is a bit blind, you're right.

coke 2024-04-20 18:16

@ilbini Thank you for your feedback!

coke 2024-04-20 18:21

@bearacus Sorry for the crash! I didn't expected that. The game's development is a bit haste and many result has not been test. And glad that you enjoy the game. Thanks for the feedback!

Cool game, music gives it a nice vibe. I actually beat the game two times with two different sets of cards, great work !

@simun182 Thank you for your playing!
