Hey it seems like in your build you put as a web version on itch that the controls don't work. I even tried fullscreening the game and it didn't work.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD52 → Asteroid Miner

The controls do not work for me either :(
I cannot move, on HTML version neither.
Just fixed the movement, looks like the new InputSystem somehow screwed me last second. Thanks for letting me know!
This is great! I imagine you could go really deep with upgrade trees and stuff if you had more time :) Had fun collecting stuff and eventually getting so fast the eneimes just couldn't keep up any more
I dig the progression and overall gameloop, I just wish the game had more visual feedback during combat, it can be hard to see how much damage I'm taking when I'm busy fighting with an enemy. Good work!
I like your home ship. The platforms are easy to get in and out of, but you can't just whiz by to deposit. That made it pretty dangerous when enemies were chasing. There were a nice variety of minerals to gather, and it was worth hunting for the better ones. I couldn't fight the enemies, since it was too hard to fend them all off, so this was much more of a harvest and evade game than a fighting game. Firepower/defense upgrades could change that, but the evasion game worked. The "Sell minerals" button was exactly where the "Restart game" button was, so when I finally won, I couldn't see the win screen, since I was mashing the sell minerals button while being chased by what looked like 100 enemies.
Some sounds would go a long way to improve the atmosphere. I had to provide my own asteroid mining music.
The mining is satisfying. The variety of minerals is nice and the movement feels good. Aiming at enemies is way too hard though. A turret that follows the mouse pointer may have been better. Prices on the repair and upgrade buttons would have been nice. The text in the bottom right does not display correctly in the web build. The text is too big for the box.
It's hard to shoot and hit the enemy, since you must move in its direction and, in the process, you tend to be hit by it. I believe it would be best to shoot in the mouse direction, so you can try to evade while hitting the enemy. Beside that, the 'Sell minerals' seems a little unnecessary since 1 mineral = 1 credit. Despite that, was a fun game and ideia, congrats. :)
couldn't get the idea or the game :(
