Solid FPS arena. Really enjoyed it

I think the most impressive part of this game is the team organization! I applaud whoever was managing so many people for a game jam! I found a couple small bugs (menu settings don't work, might want to hide the options button. There are also some visual issues with animations playing slowly and sometimes freezing). Otherwise, I can see the potential in this game. Good work!

LOVE the half-life health UP reference sound! :D Overall, very impressed by the graphics AND more importantly - size of your team, haha!

The gameplay felk a little clunky - the sword wasn't very responsive so It was pretty hard to use, but I had fun - good job!

Thanks for all the feedback! It was a complete challenge to make this game.

We made this team last week, we didnt know each other previously. We started friday night from scratch, with little to no experience in Unity or C#, except for Maxi that teached and guided us.

Even though lot of things broke in the last hour, like the death mechanic, score, in game pause and resolution change, I have to say we are really proud of the final product.

I haven't tried the game yet, but I thought you might want to know that you're tied with a couple other games for second-largest team in Ludum Dare history (or, at least, since LD38, which is how far back my data goes). The only team larger than yours has 27 collaborators.

I really like the overall mood here, the environment and the animation of the enemies combined with the music really set up a cool athmosphere. The gameplay may be a little bit rough but the idea is clear and maybe with a little more polish you could make this an awesome experience.

Some things I'd adress: - It would be nice to have some kind of tutorial, specially for the controls. I didn't know I had a dash or a sword until a few minutes in. Also, it would be great to be able to change weapons using number keys. - The sword attack is a bit clunky and has some delay until the animation plays, I think that can be a bit uncomfortable. - I don't know if this is my PC specifically but when I change resolutions I can't go back to the original that is set when launching the game. In adition, I'd like to have greater resolution options; every option I tried seemed to fell below the one of my screen (1920x1080).

Great job here guys!

Very nice game, incredible the planning to organise such a big team!! Congrats!!!

Increíble que hayan podido hacer esto en solo 3 días, mas siendo la primera jam de algunos! felicitaciones!

I tried to play, but the mouse sensitivity was unusably high, and the option to change it didn't seem to work. But I was running it on Linux using Wine, so that *might* have been the cause of the problem.

From what I was able to see, the graphics look extremely polished relative to most 3D jam games!

santi-barra 2022-04-06 12:59

@juan-garcia-jousset Thanks for the feedback!

It is to my shame to admit that there was a tutorial, but for some reason adding that broke a lot of things... we realized last minute so we had to delete it. And both changing weapons with numbers and changing resolution were possible but they suddenly stoped working when we merged all the branches of the github.

But in the following weeks we will continue to fix the bugs and upload the final version to itch.io!

Wow! I'm absolutely in awe at how large of a team you had working on this! It's seriously impressive that you were able to manage this many developers. And it shows. The graphics are amazing, and the 3D models are especially impressive. I love the NormalMaps and BumpMaps on the materials too! That's the sort of stuff that couldn't be done with a smaller team. It's very polished for a weekend long jam!

I also love how the mouse sensitivity is in the form of a text box instead of a slider. Setting the sensitivity to 999 or 0 was pretty funny. Great work all around, and I had a great time.

maxpowergd 2022-04-08 02:33

Me gusto, solamente que la sensibilidad esta como en júpiter pero la idea esta buena

halflemonstudios 2022-04-09 17:40

I always like to meet an FPS among Ludum Dare entries. This one gave me a lot of fun too. A lower mouse sensitivity would have been nice, at least setting to 1 wasn't low enough for me. The shooting robot doesn't have walking animation, and I'm not sure the hitboxes worked all as intended. Also sometimes the game lagged, which is fustrating in an FPS. I liked the balance and the mechanic of how I should save bullets for the meele robots and can kill the range ones with sword, I think if I concentrate it's possible to go infinite, it would be cool if I could measure my performance, with a score, or a clock. Overall nice job!

hawkin 2022-04-12 01:50

First off, standing ovation for the effort. I thought the borderlands-esque graphical style was excellent.

After some experimenting with the mechanics, it seems like kills with the gun give health, and kills with the sword give ammo? In my opinion, the gameplay feels a little rigid that way. For example, if I wanted to be a gunslinging deadshot or if I wanted to master the art of the sword, I instead had to use both weapons.

But great work as a team, even if it sounds like you had some integration issues that limited some aspects of your game :)

beelzeboss 2022-04-13 19:53

Daamn thats a big game. I think a bit more effects for shooting, like particle effects and screen shake etc, would have made combat feel more juicy. Good job!

rojoin 2022-04-14 02:12

@hawkin Thanks for the feedback! We thought the balance of the game with the idea that sooner or later you would need to die and we didn't want people to only use the gun so we made that you needed to change to be more difficult. At the same time, the rate at which health depletes is higher the more you stayed alive so the situation was only delayable. The tutorial was something that we did but fail at the last time, same with resolution and mouse sensibility. Despite this, we are very proud of the game, being this the first experience for the majority of the team. Thanks for playing <3
