Cool game, I like how vibrant the colors are. The gameplay is simple but effective, it is enjoyable. Props to you for adding a tutorial!

Few things : It tooks me a bit to figure out what character I was, maybe giving it more room to breath at the start of the level would have helped. I find it hard to differentiate the "enemies" from the other things (apart from the shark maybe)

Good job!

Fun! My only gripe was that your cursor was a bubble so I kept chasing my cursor, but apart from that, this game was great!

It's really fun to play, the music and graphics are fun, great work !

elosociu 2021-04-27 15:55

cute and fun to play!

Fun gameplay, cute graphics, what more could you ask for! Great work!

@dynamix Thanks! I also noticed that a small tutorial level with one of each type of fish etc would have helped with the acclimation to the real game, but alas time was short.

karlhk 2021-04-28 13:19

@cubex Thanks, I can see how the bubble cursor can be confusing

fabz 2021-04-28 15:23

Sweet vibe and nice easing on the fish movements!

inno 2021-04-29 09:27

Nice, simple and a complete game!

karlhk 2021-04-29 15:29

@inno Mhm, we're beginners so we didn't bet on a grand idea that would win the jam, but we decided that a game that is complete is the most important to us.

Simple but cute and fun!

feedback - The game was super duper cute - I liked the simple levels - The music was super cute and not annoying - The graphics were nice - The only complaint is that the theme isn't really that visible

Nice and simple game. The goal was super clear and there is no onboarding required, a big plus compared to many other entries! One of the things that could be improved is the visualization for the predators. The sharks are obviously dangerous, but the green eels fade into the background with the other fishes, especially since there is green seaweed with the same shape floating around. Use consistent colors/shapes for the things that are dangerous in your games. If you want to make it easier for people to play your game, consider using itch.io and/or making a web version. It does not take very long if you know how to do it.

Overall very nice entry, I can see it being a classic web game back in the day.

(Oh and the bass dropping the deeper you go is a very nice touch :D)

You should use itch instead of google drive, that way you can also see analytics and set up a cool upload page :)

Thank you @meritcoding and @sam-minh for the great in-depth feedback! Much appreciated

karlhk 2021-05-04 22:18

@leyamez Changed it to a itch.io link, thanks!

Really dig the simple zero-buttons control scheme. Movement felt smooth and the collision was good, too, which is often an issue in games like this. I would have liked a little more feedback about the effect the bubbles were having - I didn't know if they stacked up or timed out.
