Fun game!

Really interesting game, would be funny playing it on phone using accelerometer sensor :D

Great work!

Fun little game! It was easy until I reached the level where there are four stars in the middle. It was more challenging.

Let me guess, this would be your game if the theme was "Control the world, not the player"?

sockpuppetcow 2020-10-06 14:05

@Domin77 I was thinking that myself actually! Not sure if or when I'll get around to doing that, but it sounds like fun nonetheless.

@marbles Thanks for the feedback! On that level I was trying to make something slightly more challenging because everything else was so easy, but it ended up feeling too easy to me. Could be the whole "developer knows all the tricks" thing. I ended up keeping it anyway cause I was actually trying to have 15-20 levels in this thing but kinda ran out of time and energy.

Also, during theme voting when I saw "Control the world, not the player" I envisioned something more mario-like, but that easily could've shifted towards this kind of thing.

Liked it, felt very smooth and was mesmerising spinning the loops around.

Good concept and good level design, good work on it!

don-tnowe 2020-10-06 21:21

I liked it. It's simple but pretty challenging!

indieronin 2020-10-07 13:14

The game was very fun, I think with a bit more polish and levels this could make an awesome full mobile game, the levels were fun to play and very innovative! I liked it allot!

Fun game. At first I didn't realize you could jump so I had a really hard time, lol. Being able to jump but only being able to move via the rotation physics made me rewire my brain that's used to conventional platformers which was a fun and fresh experience.

I agree that gyro controls would be great here.

The stages get a little bit monotonous by the end, but props for making a good amount of them.

sockpuppetcow 2020-10-10 03:57

Thanks for the feedback @empty-set. I was kinda concerned the levels were starting to feel the same by the end myself, and I think if I decide to take this project beyond the jam, I'll try for some more variation. There are actually some interesting mechanics that I wanted to implement that might've helped but I ran out of time.

I really enjoy the game, it is unique, but also familiar at the same time, it is true that it could use a little but more polish but that's alright for a 72 hour game, if the idea is expaned on (making more mechanic and levels) it could be a quite unique puzzle or a mobile game

quadtree 2020-10-22 08:17

Nice one! Watching those octagons rotate was kind of hypnotizing after awhile. If you were to take it further it could probably use a few more mechanics, though.
