funny little platformer starring everyone's favorite da vinci sketch. The platforming feels nice in this game.

guilherme-rampelotto-rodrigues 2020-10-06 01:51

last level is really hard, I liked it!

melvinng 2020-10-06 04:22

It's a hard game! But overall a nice gaming experience!

ice9 2020-10-06 04:34

Getting used to the wall jump is hard! Solid game.

holtzzy223 2020-10-06 17:18

Thanks everyone who has reviewed so far! @ice9 @mikew @melvinng @guilherme-rampelotto-rodrigues

ancient-pixel 2020-10-06 17:57

I really digged the music :) and the game is really hard

holtzzy223 2020-10-06 18:23

@ancient-pixel Thanks! yeah i think i need to adjust the wall slide speed, and maybe collision masks on the spikes are bit to perfect XD

endssgamesstudio 2020-10-06 23:45

really difficult :D

samurguy 2020-10-06 23:49

Its really fun and the music helps calm my seething anger. The different art elements don't really blend well but it doesn't matter because it feel really nice to play in a weird way.

Nice, I've always wanted to play as the Vitruvian Man.

The walljumps felt awkward and kinda inconsistent. Pressing away from the wall to wall jump feels a little strange in my opinion, though luckily I could rely on my muscle memory from Super Metroid to deal with those parts, because wall jumps work similarly there, lol.

I think some of the levels got a little too long considering one mistake sends you back to the start.

I enjoyed the music, though the art was a little sloppy.

Good work for your first Game Jam.

Nice music and a... lets say entertaining character sprite make this game pretty fun, but I lack whatever skill is necessary to be any good at this game (that or its just really hard).

holtzzy223 2020-10-07 20:44

@theseusinabottle No it's just hard I think!

Interesting game! a bit on the difficult side, and I'm not sure how many of my deaths were my fault and how many were from the controls being a little bit slippery. The art is alright, though I think with the vitruvian man as your subject you could have been a little more creative with the sprite.

The platforming was fairly solid, I knew when I was going to land, the wall jumping could have been explained a little better in the first level, but once I got the hang of it, it was fairly responsive most of the time, sometimes my character would just vibrate on the side of the wall unsure if he was supposed to go up or not, perhaps I was jumping improperly?

Other than that, a solid game! Good work :D

holtzzy223 2020-10-08 13:31

@noteworthy I should of probably explained that you slide on walls when in contact as well! Thanks for the review and for playing!

gonzalol 2020-10-09 12:33

It has some interesting ideas about mechanics and controls. It's a great start for a jam but it needs some work yet.

sarajs 2020-10-09 13:56

Well done!

holtzzy223 2020-10-09 19:00

@shaunjs Thanks so much!

aerys 2020-10-10 01:37

Pretty interesting vibe, decently fun :D

jitspoe 2020-10-13 06:37

Played it a bit on stream. Here's the VOD, in case you want to see that again (note: Twitch will remove it in 2 weeks): https://www.twitch.tv/videos/768695765?t=02h48m25s

Really liked the music, but the controls could stand to be dialed in a bit more.

holtzzy223 2020-10-13 18:29

Thanks for playing! Also, I really appreciate the constructive critiques!

tunahead 2020-10-14 17:44

Pretty nice, the Controlls feel very floaty...especially the Walljump. But overall pretty good :)

fraanns 2020-10-22 21:37

goog game but wall jumping is really hard

trexxak 2020-10-23 05:37

Huh, interesting protagonist! I wonder if you were the first to make the vitruvian man the protagonist of a video game! Seems very unique, how did you come up with that? :'D
