Swooping in with ratings!

I think the game is broken (ball doesn't seem to connect with enemy locusts at all, thought rarely sometimes it'll hit one.) I'm not sure what's happening to be honest and there are no instructions to help.

I like the art, though the locusts don't really look like locusts.

@davidsheadgames Thanks for your comment! Even a little suggestion will be big help. Yea, I also feel that there is a lack of the sense of hit; our mechanic is this, when the ball goes through the horde of locusts, it will only hit the first one I think, and there is no any feedback to the player, the locust, when it dies it disappear suddenly, it's a little bit weird, we knew, Lol. This is the first time we participate the game jam, there is a lot of things we can make better, every comments and suggestions are useful, really thanks for your comment.

I like the base concept! It reminds me of a mix between a brick breaker game and an old minigame for Mario Paint for SNES where you had to swat flies.

Some things I liked: - random level generation was a nice touch (although perhaps uneeded for a jam game) - the fast-paced action - I honestly kind of liked the art and vibe. probably because it reminded me of the Mario Paint minigame: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vAQXJbfihxo

Here's some suggestions I think would improve this game: - all locusts hit by the ball should die, instead of just one. If it felt overpowered, it could have been improved by (a) having the ball bounce off locusts or (b) just spawning more locusts. - an arrow should show how you're aiming the paddle? net? Also, I kept wanting to pull back and release like it was a slingshot, so flipping the controls may be a natrual choice. - catching the ball is difficult. Perhaps that was intentional, but maybe slowing the ball down after the first bounce would be nice. - If there was time, having something to break up the action, like a rounds system that gets progressively harder, would feel nice.

Nice job!

Catching and throwing the ball from the cursor is a really neat mechanic! I was confused at first when the ball didn't damage multiple locusts, I would have liked to cut swaths through the locusts. Also dead locusts or splats would be a good indicator of a locust hit, that would have clued me in sooner that everything is working as intended. Great job!

The idea of the game can be nice, but there is some bug (ball not hitting the locusts). I think the problem is in the hitbox (ball's or locust's or both). If you fix it, the game can be good.

The game idea is really interesting but the execution isn't the best. The ball was really hard to catch sometimes. Still keep up the good work and don't give up

This game feels really unfinished, but said "You did not have enough time".

For a first jam game, this was neat! It could use some "bug"-fixing (haha, hilarious), but I liked the idea, and the random level generation in particular was neat! Great job!
