Great vibe - I love the sound design in particular. I didn't get very far though. Only one of the roman numeral codes worked in the safe (unless I calculated them wrong? 1520 worked, 0459/1519/1984 did not), which only led to more symbol text. I assume the symbols were some kind of cipher, but I didn't have the patience to do frequency analysis or anything like that. Lack of spaces makes any cryptographic analysis a lot harder too I think. I was hoping that the english text in the purple book was a key, but none of the books seemed to match it (in terms of mapping symbols to individual letters). The game definitely needs some more clues for puzzles like this to be solvable at all. Still I liked the experience - would love to see this fleshed out a bit with some more hints. Nice work!
Cool attention to populating the room and making a lot of things clickable and having associated text. The text is delivered in a pretty lackluster way, a nicer textbox at the bottom would've been nice for a game in which it serves such a central function. Some animation would be nice, even on just a few objects such as fire, clocks, curtains, etc. It was rather uninteresting to be honest, but I feel like there were a lot of potentially cool rooms that I simply didn't tap because I lost interest before I could get to them. I saw one room that required a 4-digit code, kinda cool. I acknowledge it's hard to populate rooms with a ton of objects, but the art also seemed a little sloppy, even though the color scheme and layout was strong overall.
I don't quite think I understood the puzzles, but maybe I wasn't patient enough. I liked the environment though and the interactions were clear. I would suggest making it much much easier for the player in the beginning, showing them how to solve a puzzle by having a trivial code, before giving them real challenges.
Interesting concept and really cool feel to the game. I didn't know what to do after opening the safe.
