Really enjoyed the art. Had a good time bodying skeletons into the dirt.
I enjoyed the graphical style and feel that the music was well crafted. I agree that the gameplay is too slow at first, but it does ramp up around 50 as you said when the first boss arrives. It also seemed that after I defeated the second boss and got the shield, that the shield did nothing as I seemed to take A LOT more damage after that point.
@james-dunlap when you take a shield, the maximum level of HP increases, this gives the effect of "decreasing" lives, but in reality there are more lives. Without a shield, you have a maximum of 15 HP, with a shield a maximum of 25 HP
Very good graphics and sound, I think it would be better if the gameplay go forward in a quicker way, like faster enemy waves or not take that long for the first boss encounter, but overall a very nice game for game jam.
@mercuryal Thank you for rating. We totally agree.But if we make the game faster at the beginning, then at the end it will be impassable difficult. But we will fix it if there are 10 or more likes on this comment :)
The progression feels a bit slow and it's really easy to just cheese it at the beginning by spamming LMB - enemies can't get you no matter how hard they try! Other than that, it's a good start to something, but right now it's more on the "meh" side for me, but that might be because it was just a bit boring to wait even for the first boss. Take my review with a grain of salt, I might come back to this one and give it another shot later down the line!
It's impressive that you've managed to make a full-fledged game (with powerups, unlockable characters, and what not) in just 3 days!
The gameplay is a tiny bit repetitive though.
