Interesting take on the theme!

Interesting take on the theme!
Interesting concept. I had an issue on finding out what to actually do. Some instructions would be helpful.
A bold idea! Truly start with nothing at all! Sort of building a game through building a game. Must be hard to code
This is a really impressive entry when one considers the entire thing was done in Javascript with no libraries. That's a crazy amount of code that must have been written to make all of this work.
I was really surprised that you went from level editor straight into actually playing. And the monsters had AI and came to life? Sure this would be much easier if you were using a framework like gamemaker or Unity but to do it in pure javascript in the duration of a 48-hour compo takes a lot of authoring.
Nice entry. Well done.
This game is hard to rate, after all, if I don't have fun, is the game bad, or did I make a bad level? :stuck_out_tongue:
I'm kidding, of course. While the game mechanics once you enter the gameplay mode are incredibly minimal, the fact you implemented a level editor with all these different components, that actually _works_, is really impressive. Good job!
I gotta give you credit, that was pretty clever. The editor UI is really hard to work with (I second the request for instructions) and I would recommend allowing the user to drag to place down a series of tiles.
I liked experimenting by clicking on stuff in the level editor. Creating a level is fun and theme fitting, but the enemies don't really stand a chance. The enemy death sound is perfection.
Amazing take on the theme -- you truly begin with nothing, not even a game. The enemy AI isn't that engaging but honestly the level builder is really fun. I'm really impressed.
