Can't seem to be able to play the game...
Very cute! I hate when I lose all my possessions like this hero.
I like this mysterious mood of the game and well executed dialogue system. The resolution could be higher but graphic is not most the important thing in LD games. Unfortunetely I got stuck when I brought a carrot to my father without giving it to the strange guy on the right...
Liked the graphics style!
Cute is the good word for this pixel game.
@davidsheadgames @gabriele Sorry about the problem where the game didn't work! It's all fixed know, sorry for messing that up!
@xcvzxc Thanks for the compliments! It's supposed to give you an option to 'reset' the game in the pause menu. There was a bug with a prefab where it said it said the button was nested but it wasn't... Anyways that doesn't matter, it's fixed now!
The game is cute for sure. The pause menu didn't work for me at all though, which was a problem because I kept reaching points where it seemed I got stuck and had to restart the game.
the game won't open for me, ny suggestion?
@nisovin Okay the pause menu glitch is fixed!
@nachtwitch Hmm, I'm not sure. You're unzipping the file and the .exe won't run?
If I went to far to the right I would fall off and have to restart. Otherwise, good game!
Loved the humor! It's a bit finneky and it can catch you off guard if you forget that it's a jam game (for example I kept going after the floating head and fell off screen, then opened the pause menu only to find that it doesn't work, luckily it was just the beginning of the game).
But you may forget it's a jam game as the aesthetic is really polished, the dialogues are witty and the game has a real good way to handle itself.
@sam-awk Colliders fixed! Sorry about that lol!
@gabriele Thanks so much! I can't believe I forgot to add a collider at the edge of the map, lol! Also sorry about the pause menu, other people had problems with it and I couldn't get it working for ages.
I played this game, and only word I can say is "AWESOME" but with no music, at least it have some audio effects :D
Very nice game, I really wanted to find all the objects and I did many games !!
Nice Game! It is funny and interesting, and for the first time making pixel art - I loved it. Great job!
Awesome game! Love the great graphics!
Nice entry! Some first impressions:
**Good stuff** - Pixel art is cute; particularly like main character and the ground tiles - Variety of items, characters, and some dialogue - Basic concept of exploring world, trading items around, and bringing them home to maybe earn the appreciation of your dad is a good take on the theme. I really like the item frame mechanic in particular; it reminds me of a grandmother pinning your drawings up on the refrigerator.
**Could use work** - Audio is a bit grating, especially since there are few sound effects other than the one you get when you hit space. It's also a little bit odd that this happens even when you don't interact with an object successfully; I would expect maybe a quieter, lower beep indicating that there's nothing to interact with. In general, it's useful to remember that audio isn't just to make your ears useful during gameplay, it also gives the player some feedback on what they're doing in the world and in the interface. - I think the design of the world could be a little more optimal for getting the player to learn how the mechanics work. Upon loading the game, my first thought was 'hey, a carrot, I'll go give that to my dad' before realizing that made it impossible to make any further progress. I'm not sure how you would resolve this (maybe just by making items removable from item frames), but it felt a little bad to have to go through the exposition again.
**Thanks for making this game, and good luck for the (brief) rest of rating season!**
@jeremy-ryan Thanks for your critique! I agree with everything you said- espeically the audio. I did a sh*t job with time management and that resulted in really low-quality audio. Also I hadn't thought of a skip button, but that's a great idea. That exposition does not to be re-experienced lol.
