looks interesting, good luck on the next one!

I gave it a try but there are not a lot of things to do indeed. Keep going with the project because it looks interesting. The first time I entered a game jam me and my team failed horribly. We couldn't even build the game because there were too many errors. Keep going and make something awesome next time too!

How do I play? I keep clicking on everything I think is clickable and nothing happens :(

@prodigalson Oh, I've not finished this game yet ) I just had made the big sign on the first screenshot to make it more clear. Sorry for your time!

prodigalson 2019-10-12 12:29

Gotcha! I totally missed that :P Okay, I'll rate base on description :)

Hi @yolziii, I see that this game is not playable now but from the screenshot, it seems it has a lot of action on your game. My suggestion would be to focus on a simple gameplay mechanic, polish at and add more stuff if you had time. If in a given point of the process you see you still have a lot of things to do start cutting stuff out. If you planned 10 enemies cut them to 5, if you still don't have time to do 5, cut to 3, etc... I am not really a pro at game jam but usually what we try to do is to finish the core loop in 1st day, create all extra mechanics in the 2nd day and have the last day to polish and bug correction. Of course, this never appends according to the plan but this gives us a map of how far behind we are. Nevertheless congrats on your 1st Ludum.

@yolziii As you discovered, a large part of Ludum Dare is management of time and expectations. While your idea was a great idea, you found that you could not finish your plan in time. That is the constant theme of LD, personal growth. In our games for LD (eight consecutive so far), we have grown within these limitations. Our first game left us wanting to do so much more than we were able to do.

Having said all of that, I really liked the aesthetic of your game. It looked and sounded great! It seems like a solid idea that you could develop more post-LD.
