It's fun, but there is no reason to sacrifice, and it's quite short.

A good start. The pixel art is very good but you should scale up the sprites so we can appreciate it better. The music and sfx are simple but effective. Would have liked to see more of the "sacrifice" theme. Good luck on your in-town competition!

Good work! I'm glad to see more people using Godot! There doesn't seem to be a reason to sacrifice yourself, but otherwise this is would make a solid shoot-em-up!

Overall good. Reminded me of Galaga, the Sacrifice element was a creative representation of the game.

Me and my friend were laughing at the kamikaze for hours.

The player sacrifices himself with an attack that makes him lose a heart, then, another pilot is replaced with the old one, it sticks with the theme, but just a little bit, i make it because initially i was doing something too much complex, and i woudl'nt make it in time for the jam, then i dropped out of my initial idea and changed to something simple. Just because i was doing the game alone.

Anyways, thanks for the feedback you all! Sorry for the short game, it was what i could make with the time i had.

I didn't go for compo because the music that is on the game is not mine. But most of the game was made in 48 hours, i couldn't make anything today because i had other stuff to do.

Good: I liked the starts. And the sacrifice process (the explosion).

Other: I think you can improve the game feel by simple things. It seems you used Godot (buttons give it away) so I'm gonna give examples on how to do some simple but effective stuff on it. You can then experiment with them.

Damage Animation: Change the modulate property of an object from red to white when it takes damage using an animation player. Call play() when damage is taken.

Death Explosion: Play with a particles2D node until you get a fun particle patter. Then set emitting true on death.

Death Fade away: Similarly use an animation node to change modulate from white to transparent on death. yield($AnimationPlayer, "animation_finished") before you queue_free()

You can use particles and animation players for all oher kinds of stuff. Tween is also a usefull node to check out.

Shooter é sempre bom! Adorei a pixelart, os efeitos e a ideia do sacrifício, parabéns!

I like the game, but I don't understand the sacrifice thing.
