thomas-lacroix 2018-12-03 15:16

"Try holding E" damn, I brought them all as soon as I killed them! E is welcome though!

Very nice graphics, even if they are a bit gore xD Nice game :)

daragonis 2018-12-03 15:19

A really cool entry, classic gameplay but really well made, good job ! :)

darkshinobi100 2018-12-03 20:21

Really cool game and the theme works really well with this style, the sacrifice audio is a bit loud however overall it's a great game congrats.

Fun "Hotline Miami" style game. This game is fun and satisfying. Good job!

Feedback: - I like the blood trail effect when you drag bodies. - Good, creepy atmospheric sounds that set a good tone for the theme. - Your game has a common bug in top down shooters where moving diagonal makes the character go much faster. I found this video that might help you: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Fjke0xXBSw - Encountered a bug where dragging enemies sometimes is faster than the normal walking speed sometimes? not sure what triggers it - Some enemies were "stronger but dumber", but I could not tell the difference in their AI.. perhaps I am the dumb one! - You can't shoot past/over dead bodies which would be nice. - I did the same thing as @thomas-lacroix , and dragged all the bodies one by one as I killed them.. it was a bit arduous so I wish I knew about holding E when I started.

I like the idea of sacrifice and the game feel is great, especially when you drag bodies that leave all the blood behind. However, but the levels just got too repetitive - it would be nice to have another use of the portals like smaller ones that replenish health, give a new weapon, key etc.

Good job on the game!!

@dougdevs Thank you very very much for the detailed feedback! I will try to answer each of you points: 1. Thank you :} 2. <3 3. Oddly enough I didn't think about it/noticed it. I will definitely fix it if I make a post-jam version, thank you for pointing it out 4. If all enemies in the room are dead, dragging the bodies doesn't slow you down. I guess I should have made sure to point it out so people don't drag bodies to the pentagram before all enemies are dead :| 5. The purple enemies forget about you much faster and they notice you much more slowly. That makes it so it's easy to sneak up on them again and again as they forget about you almost right as you leave their line of sight. 6. That was coded on purpose. You can use bodies to make yourself extra cover to hide behind after peaking corners so enemies can't shoot at you. Also in my opinion it makes the game a bit more difficult as you should move bodies out of areas where you're gonna fight. 7. Holding E only became an option when the game told you to try it, I wanted the players to drag bodies a bit to be more immersed but not for too long as it gets tedious.

Overall you helped me realize that I should have explained stuff better: why the enemies are dumber, that you drag bodies faster after all enemies are dead etc.. Also to fix the speed bug :]

Again, thank you so much for your feedback :)

@thomas-lacroix - ;)

@daragonis

@darkshinobi100 - I'm pretty sure it happened because of a problem with my headphones that made it sound "balanced" to me :|

@blodyavenger - I made the last few levels moments before I had to submit the game, I originally planned on giving the player new weapons and adding new features but had no time left. Maybe those will exist in a post-jam version :]

Thank you very much for your feedback! :)

It's seems very poor at first look but I like the idea and mechanic! Great job folks!

blodyavenger 2018-12-03 23:22

@ofirma85 I guess we all had big plans but not enough time :smiley:

pukami 2018-12-03 23:24

Very nice game! I had a lot of fun playing it, and the difficulty is just right.

lontrus 2018-12-04 03:16

Simple aesthetics work pretty well in compos and you nailed it. The gameplay is simple and fun, but for me lacked some variation after level 8 (where I stopped playing and skipped to the ending), the enemies were the same so were the mechanics, but this time in a longer level, it started to feel like a chore.

Btw, nice ambient music.

ofirma85 2018-12-04 12:01

@pukami Im glad you enjoyed my game! :)

@lontrus Thank you very much! I was bothered with the lack of variety as well in the game but I simply had no time, I planned on adding more features/weapons. :)

You made a great job by keeping sound visuals and gameplay along with the theme without neglecting any of them. I love the fact you let the player drag the bodies to give us the feel you wanted and then you add the option to skip it so it wont harm the gameplay. The fonts and way of typing fits well with the theme, along with the simple sprites. Sound is also very good, but the noise at the end of each round is louder than other sounds.

great job <3

drikdrok 2018-12-04 14:54

Great game! Definitely one of the most complete and fully realized games I've played this LD yet. Very polished and everything is simple yet fun. Impressive what you've achieved in 48 hours!

ofirma85 2018-12-04 14:57

@mamraev @drikdrok thank you very much ;)

serious07 2018-12-04 15:14

I liked the idea of carrying corpses. Cool idea. Everything is drawn perfectly. Good job!

elfunck 2018-12-04 15:28

Well done, amazing gameplay, it remind me hotline miami of course.

I not sure why, but sometimes when I carry a corpse I went slow and sometimes not ?

ofirma85 2018-12-04 15:47

@serious07 Thank you very much :)

@elfunck Thank you! It was indeed inspired by Hotline Miami and you carry corpses faster if all enemies are dead to make it less tedious to grab them all at the end of a level. :)
