I really liked the way combos work, amazing game

Now that's a really new idea I haven't seen before.

Unfortunately the placing is really tough, I couldn't even beat stage 2. There were three combos in stage 1, but I find only one in stage 2. Is there another combo than photo plus glasses?

Also, the aubergine in the first stage is irritating, it looked like a sticker but seemed to be not.

Maybe add mouse controls for faster placing?

Really nice game!

Great implementation of the theme and overall a good idea! Maybe using the mouse for controlling stickers would be more fun for the user.

Quite an interesting concept. Overall, a good game. Congrats!

I can understand why this might come off as sarcastic, but I actually like the art in this game. If you're just one person busting out a game for the Compo, you gotta lean into what you've got; there's thought in what the stickers depict and the portrayal makes a convincing rayon out of that sow's ear. The combination bonus takes the game above other "stuff it in the shape" games that I've seen this round. I was pleasantly surprised by moving targets in the later rounds. I noticed that sometimes the stickers sink or drift before placement, but not always. Bug or feature? It did make things harder, because I like to look at something in situ before I commit. (Do not hang wall art with me if you're in a hurry.)

I should also add that, while the combos are one of the most interesting parts of the game, they discourage placement. I ended up just hitting the space bar as fast as I could to see what combos came up. That went against the idea of running out of space. :grimacing:

Fun little puzzle. Even if I'm not young anymore and don't hang on tumblr, I consider my self quite versed on internet culture and could spot quite a few of the references in how to combo things up to make stuff look cool. Still, the game almost required you to fail in the beginning to learn the mechanics of it and I think it would have made it a somewhat better experience if the first level had much fewer stickers (3-4) and sort of the easiest ones that everyone should know. Pineapple and pizza. And very low requirement. If you'd run out of backgrounds to stick stuff on, just repeat them. Because there were so many combos I had to learn basically on the first level it became more of "Oh that also gave me points" "Why didn't that?" when I just comboed something without thought. But in general a very good little puzzle.

It might also help to start each level with a sticker in hand, that way space is only "place sticker" and not "activate first" too.
