This was really good! There's a lot of depth to the mechanics between attacking, saving for defense, regaining power, and storing spare die for future turns. I do wish I were able to upgrade defense past 3, and it would have been nice to have instructions about the extra storage slot for a die, and I did crash on the final boss. I had like 56 power, so I probably would have been able to beat it, too! :sad: Other than that though, I had a blast playing this! Great work! (I didn't even know you could make games in Access, or what it was until now!)

You should totally include your video in description https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XFDXUZBbvdQ

I really want to try this, but the access runtime thing throws an error when after I click any of the two buttons on the main menu. Unfortunately, there is no detailed error code on this:

I tried it on a Windows 7 and a Windows 10 computer, same result. Could you look into this?

Pretty hard to bug test with the "from scratch in 48h" lack of error catching. I was able to replicate that behavior by not having the PowerGameImages folder in the same folder as the accdr (apparently the static menu image is stored directly in the database).

If your folder looks like the contents of the zip file, I believe it should work.

* PowerGameImages (Folder) * PowerGameSounds (Folder) * PowerPlantAssault.accdr

Watched your game video on YouTube. This turned out to be a really nifty game idea. I'm not willing to run unsigned random VBA script on my computer, but I enjoyed watching you play. This is something you could (and should) spend the time to convert into a game using a more standard framework (Unity, Godot, Clickteam Fusion, etc). I am very impressed with how well it turned out. I voted on the game for you, although I can't actually play it. My game is https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/39/roop-running-out-of-power/, if you were so inclined to check it out. Thanks for the game (video). =)

Guess no way to play this on Linux?
