Interesting way to interpret the theme. I love card games and honestly something like this never crossed my mind.

Here are some helpful tips to learn and grow from.

* A small tutorial on how to play would have been nice. I really didn't understand what was going on when I was playing.

* I noticed that some of the buttons were not working or worked differently than intended. - The Options button on the main menu did work. - If you click Edit Decks then click Return it took you to the Credits page and the Return button doesn't take you back - If you click Play Match then Edit Deck and then click Return you come back to the screen where you can select to play either the Computer or another player but the Return button on this page won't work.

* There was no way to exit the game unless you were on the main menu.

* There were some random spelling errors (not that big of a deal, it can happen to anyone )

Congrats on finishing the your 4th LD! I hope you'll be back in December for LD40!

This is a cool way to interpret the theme! But sadly I don't think CCGs are very well suited for ludum dare due to the complexity involved in designing and making a good CCG, and this game really shows why. The base CCG mechanics themselves work great, but there is little to no strategy involved in the game, even when playing against another human being. Generally, most cards that allow you to gain more energy should be played immediately, same with building unless they have significant energy costs. The game essentially boils down to luck as whoever gets more of the energy stealing cards would probably win easily. However, these problems can't really be fixed in the short span of 48h or even 72h for the jam, so I think this is about as good as one can get for a game jam.

I think one way to make the game better is to allow players to see what cards the opponents have played and cards that are still in effect, so there is at least a foundation for strategies to be built upon instead of each player just playing their own hand in the best way that they can.

Functionally it is a great game and its pretty fun for a couple of games, but its lacking in a lot of aspects that make CCGs what they are. If you were experimenting with making a CCG game, then I think this is a great result.

Some quick little TCG action;) I think you've got a decent base to work up from, but it's pretty easy to win without planning. Take inspiration from TCGs and work some of that into it. I like the simplicity, the fluctuating health bar, and the fast pacing; build around these!

I understand it's for the theme, but buildings fighting for energy is a little hard to get into x) Consider changing it when you develop the game further. Keep at it! I see potential!:D
