Hey please share the game b/c I don't have enough ratings!!!

I don't understand why this game needs an installer (why not ZIP if it's a Unity game?), but I downloaded it and am ready to play.

Well that was interesting. I'm a robot that defends myself from ghost cats by throwing garbage at them...I think... :stuck_out_tongue: I guess the overall concept of this is fine; I like how the items dropped can pass through multiple cats, the musical cues are pretty good and the art, although inconsistent in design, has a nice colour palette that isn't disturbing to the eye.

It seems as though it is possible to walk off screen, and I'm not sure if that affects the cats as well, as there were some points where I was losing health, but I didn't see any cats on screen to attack. The sound effects were also used inconsistently in the game as well; I heard a bit of a "hitting" sound effect, which I thought was for when I hit a cat, and then thought it was for when I got hit myself, but this effect did not play consistently on either action. You'd want to give more attention to the sound effects and overall consistency of the art style.

Other than this, the game is all right. I like the design of the robot and that titlescreen music you chose was cool and jazzy.

Liked the art an the animation on the robot. I had some problems with enemies attacking me off screen. good entry.

Love the art and unique concept! I'm a sucker for anything with cats ;)

I also had some issues with losing health off off-side/ outside of the visible screen area. Next Ludum Dare maybe you could do up a little test plan and see if you can "break it" and find these bugs! :) Great job.

Hey I found the art quite nice however try to avoid installers in jam games as people tend to avoid installing something they are not sure of. It's better to upload a zip or host the game online. I found this the hard way. However nice game you have here other than that. Great work!

pretty neat graphics. like the look and had fun playing it!

Hey there, the installer made me a little wary to try this, but i went ahead and had some good fun for a few minutes. Unlike a lot of others, once i realised i could fullscreen the game, i didn't have any health loss bug issues, so that was fine. I was a little sad when i found out that money you earned wasn't actually usable for anything other than a high score (sorry if it was, and i just missed it) - if you plan on extending this after LD, having some speed upgrades would be nice, as i ended up losing every time due to being too slow to run from one end of the screen to the other fast enough to drop a rock. That's all the criticism I have, everything else was a fine 'n' dandy' game; nice job! :)

Nice little game. The controls are smooth, though I don't see the point of being able to jump? Nice graphics and animation. Would have been nice with some music and sfx while playing the game too. Nice entry!

psychopsam 2017-05-19 15:52

Okay to play - but the cats climbed up out of the side of the screen and so I ended up dying without having a chance to kill them. Other than that solid gameplay. Nice work!

Make sure you call out any 3rd party assets you use. Please correct me if I'm wrong but I think I've seen that little robot dude before.

Either way, couple of things I'd like to see if you'd work on it some more:

- Making sure cats only spawn within range of the viewport - Some additional feedback from when the cats reach the surface (some sound effects, screen shake or whatever could help) - Some variety in enemy types, it got a little repetitive after a while - Some variety in attack types, maybe something as simple as being able to throw the rocks instead of falling them straight down

Great job for someone who started programming a few months ago!

Keep at it and reach out if you ever need any help or pointers
