Hotline shapeshift. Nice game

Fun game, it fit the theme quite well and I like that it is based on a book!

Cool visual idea, classic gameplay, well done !

Nice and smooth! I liked how you use the shape to signify number of hit points. I wish it was a bit harder: I just flew everywhere and always shot behind me, killing all the bots, so maybe a way for baddies to move more erratically and catch up would be good to focus the shooting in front of you. Keep up the awesome work.

I liked it except the fact that the shapes spawned up my ass and insta hit me. Not so cool.

Oh man this is Flatland by Edwin A. Abbott!!!!!!! And I'm not able to play it!! Please upload a WebGL or a downloadable version, the one that you've posted does not run on my browser (Firefox). I can't wait to try this!

Nice simple game

rcrmn 2016-05-02 11:34

@Naca, it's WebGL as build by Unity, you should be able to play it in your browser, if you can't it might be your browser is not updated, or you might try it with some other (I use chrome and it works okay for me)

@rcrmn Oh man, I feel so silly! I opened a browser console and saw that it was just taking a bit too much loading time :D Thank you for yout answer!

The game is so good, probably the first game about Flatland. Simple, but for the book fans like me, very enjoyable. The way you've implemented shapeshifting in the gameplay is so intelligent. You could expand it with many things of the story, like the Chromatic Revolution, and make kind of a "Flatland: The Official Game" :D

Finally, I want to share a thought with you: how would this look like if it was a first-person two-dimensional shooter? ;)

Great work, man!

rcrmn 2016-05-05 13:09

@Naca I thought about making First person 2.5D shooter, but I don't think it would feel that great to play... But sure, for some small section it could be cool to have!
