I dig the idea, but the way the recoil works doesn't make sense. I mean, I guess it's true to the title then but it's just confusing to the player. Give it a realistic recoil and boom, you've got yourself something viable here.
Realistic recoil wouldn't make for an as interesting game mechanic.

Completing a level was surprisingly satisfying, I particularly enjoyed the second to last level. Although I felt like there needed to be something to give reason for the weird recoil, maybe even if you just had a gun out each side, and the each recoil effect could fire from a different gun.
I could definitely see this game being extended into quite a tricky puzzle game though.
The weird recoil is an interesting mechanic, and I enjoyed playing with it. On some levels, the camera didn't show all the enemies at once, which made it perhaps unnecessarily difficult to figure out where to aim and when to do so. Since players will be failing levels a lot, you can probably just restart failed levels automatically, instead of requiring the player to press R (if you do want them to press a button, it could just be the mouse button, so the game could be played entirely with the mouse).
This is a really cool idea! TheMeorch covered the suggestions I was going to make already.
Enoyable and original game. I completed it. In one case I had to shoot enemies not visible on screen.
