Great concept but for your mouse click why it's not just only left click it would be much playable and ergonomics godd design too

A fun idea, and as long as the gun works, it is also a fun game to play.

This is a tangerine? cool man

Good original puzzle game! I'm missing some contextual information in the HUD about the current action you have to do ("State 1: Select animal", "State 2: Shoot to clone") and maybe a graphic feedback of the ray when you are trying to clone. Either way, a nice puzzle game! Congrats!

Me encanta mover la mandarina al ritmo de la música :D Buen trabajo, una idea muy divertida.

I liked this game! The mechanic is pretty interesting, and the graphics were REALLY pretty and cute! I have a few critiques, however:

As others have said, there needs to be more audiovisual feedback when using the clone gun. I didn't really get confused, but as the game's primary mechanic it should have more pizzaz!

Also, the level design could be tighter. A lot of your levels have cool ideas, but don't always fully realize the concepts. For example, on a number of levels toward the end I could *tell* that I was supposed to do a cool trick, and I appreciated the idea of doing it, but I just solved it a different way instead. Now, having levels that can be solved multiple ways is a good idea! Except when the alternate method the player discovers is easier and less interesting/fun than the cool thing you thought of. (one level I'm thinking of involved the skunks to destroy baddies, but instead I just used some well-placed sheep to jump over everything. this could have been prevented if the level was tweaked to make the jump too big to do with sheep).

Finally, the mechanics could use some fine-tuning. The jumping, and hit detection (both for platforms and enemies), and the way the pre-cloned bullets work all aren't bad (in fact, they're probably about average for ludum dare games), but they can definitely be improved. I actually stopped playing on the last level because I was annoyed by the general looseness of the level and mechanical design (however, I might go back and beat it later).

One thing I liked (besides in-general) was the skunks. Having one weapon be a "bomb" is a simple enough idea, but the fact that you have to actually jump on them to activate, then jump back off makes it more interesting!

Again, my special compliments to Ms. Ortiz for the adorable graphics, and good job to everyone else too!

Good concept. Liked the graphics a lot. The guy moved too slowly and the jumping did not look natural. Seemed to have a lot of trouble firing the gun, is it supposed to be that hard to fire it?

I had trouble playing on my mac's touchpad. I've got right-click bound to two-finger click, but that didn't seem to register properly.

Really nice concept! The controls are a little rough though, but i enjoyed a lot playing it. Keep working on it and you'll have a really nice product!

I really liked the art and the game idea. The problem was learning the clone thing, left/right clic was confusing at the beginning. Great Work!

I like the game design very much, how many levels have you been able to design based on a simple buy effective mechanics. It lacks a bit of "mood" (yeah, maybe not so importan in a game like this, but... por decir algo malo!)

Great work!

Great job Mandarina team :). The controls are a bit awkward, I think it needs a visual feedback for the "copied" animal.
The hero animation is awesome! <3

nice take on the theme. It had a game mechanic which was unique and interesting, with lots of room to apply to different puzzles, but which was simple to learn at its core. I think this is the mark of a good puzzle mechanic.
I agree with what people have said about having more audiovisual feedback for when you copy things.

Copying as a tool is brilliant.

Beautiful artwork and I loved that the protagonist was a mandarin. I liked all the attention to detail like how the protagonist looked where you were pointing and how his/her arms followed. I'm not sure about the collision mask on the spikey sheep though.

Very nice game with quite nice mechanic, although I did find walking speed to be a little slow. Overall good job!

dyfer 2015-04-29 07:33

Took me a while to get the right click. Especially with a trackpad nut nice work.

jushii 2015-05-06 01:45

Great entry. Some levels you can finish without using your gun at all. The lack of feedback/effects from your actions is probably the thing that I disliked the most. Overall a fun game to play! :)

The copy system was a bit hard to understand but it was quite the original idea. Nice graphics and tangerine. Congrats on finishing your game in time =)
