You have a good start here! The gameplay's pretty slow for a bullet hell / action game. Normally, games like these require faster pacing to be any fun. The graphics for the player look great, but everything else looks unfinished.
Very cool idea! I love the way the shields are built. The enemies had no image when I played though, they were only shown as their number of HP remaining.
Pretty nice but it looks like it's unfinish and a kinda repetitive. :/
Cool idea, especially the shields. Would like to be able to place the shield generators manually... one idea is that the power-ups that place them are dropped by enemies, instead of randomly appear on screen, that way you can control where it will drop by timing your kill. Amp up the difficulty, add more enemy types, and I can see this game being really fun. Great music, definitely fits the vibe.
@loopinlouie: The original idea was that you could create buildings and place them (heck you even had workers), but I decided to remove that since I the time to balance the gameplay would mean I would run out of time.
@Natura-Time: Yeah, the missing art is a bit of a giveaway isn't? :)
@Andrea: The art of the enemies was never done, so sorry for that.
@MrSun: The game was originally a mix of a sim building game and an arcade shooter. In the end I dropped most of the sim building in favor of delivering on time, but it would explain the slower pace. I agree with you that the current result would definitely favor faster gameplay
Love the Concept. Points for using Love2d :D
very well done. Definitely could have had more polish and the gameplay could have been faster, but it looked and sounded great and was fun. Great job!
Pretty solid controls, showing the remaining life on the enemies was a nice touch (not sure if that's for debugging though?). Shame you couldn't get more of the strategic/building elemnts in, would have been interesting to see that.
cool concept for a shooter, but looks unfinished, like the audio, very good effort
I recorded while I played: http://youtu.be/6gEoegssYL0
It's cool how you can start scrolling the screen as you go along, that's a great way of increasing the difficulty. For me I'd say it's a little slow, and as the number of enemies increase I feel like the game gets slower in a way, because it takes so long to kill them all (even though I eventually lost, so it might just be that I don't get it). It's also a bit unclear what will kill you and what won't and how stuff regenerates. Still it's a cool game and I like the way it plays out and the difference between the weapons and the energy management. Really cool - well done!
