Wow! How do you not have a ton of comments: this game is great. It is a fun, fast-paced, and very unusual game. Also: it is very pretty. Sound effects, it needs those.
Fun game. It's kinda a fancy version of whack-the-mole, but it has a lot of original ideas. Also your source code is not bad for a C++ beginner IMO. Good job!

$ c++ -Dnullptr=NULL *.cpp -lncurses
is what I did.)
