GENIUS!
This really is one of those games which will go in to the history as a prime work of art.
Some games just become old, other games become classics. This game clearly is one of the latter.
The way F does things is very great. I have never seen that letter being used this way before. Sure, there are other games where F has done things, but honestly they tend to feel like cheap rippofs.
And the duck switching mechanic? That's simply outstanding.
I have to admitt that I have not played this game quite enough to see the full effect of this feature (after all it's pretty advanced and involved), but from what I've read and seen, it really couldn't have been any better.
And the use of Q and E to switch ducks is very great aswell. Not only does it allow for switching both back and forth, but it does so in a way that takes only a slight movement off the WASD keys. No need to lift your left hand and move it to the far ends of your keyboard.
The textures are of amazing quality. Sure, there are some things that could have been changed (like the duck texture and terrain texture), but over all, they would have been over decent if you had unlimited time. When you look at them and realize they were made in such a small period of time, that is one of those moment when you can think of nothing but "wow".
Over all, this game is extremely well made. A lot of determination, coding skills and time has clearly gone into making this game. This got my vote for best Lurum Dare 24 game.
The duck is cute.
Well, acutually it seems that there is no stuff to do. The map is somehow too big. There is no explanation for the bars. I understand that eating rats makes a duck angry. That's all.
The duck quacking sound is definitely the highlight of this game.
Ducks.. A game where you can watch a duck slowly get gangrene from sitting in a pond for too long eating mice.
11/10 quacks
(Simply sitting on the edge of a pond is all you need to do, the mice come to you!)
