Great graphics, but I don't really know what I'm supposed to be doing.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD22 → Margrets Runaway

Great graphics, but I don't really know what I'm supposed to be doing.
For you who doesn't know what to do; Gather resources and use the inventory to craft stuff... For starters: Stone -> Flint, Flint + Twig -> Fireplace...
you're missing libphysfs.so.1 and libIL.so.1 from the linux zip (you generally want to package game specific libs, these are very unlikely to be installed on anyones system)
Looks simple but pretty (which is good). I first didn't know I could go offscreen. I made a club, but didn't really know what to do with it, I was just ferociously looking for berries!... but died nonetheless :P
The objectives could be given in the game and the theme could be more present. Nice and polished graphics, presentation and ease of use.
Really polished presentation, very fun, and I appreciated your ambitious play on the foraging and crafting idea. But as with most of your other comments here, I agree that a brief info screen would have gone a long way for the first few minutes. Great work, and awesome game. :)
Very interesting concept, smooth graphics, and responsive controls. But the game just wasn't fun to play. Margret walked around, picking berries and rocks, and a diamond, and then she died.
Some ideas to improve the game:
* Give us a key to open the inventory screen. We have to use the inventory all the time to eat berries, so this should have been streamlined.
* Give the player some idea of how far he is from the goal. Ok, I have a diamond, a gold bar, some flint. Are any of these one of the three ingredients? Are they used for crafting the items? Are they trash items?
* Make something that indicates the end of the world. No one likes invisible walls.
Thanks for the game! I really liked the smooth graphics.
PS: Reading the comments, I couldn't find a twig... I clicked on a bunch of trees, and not one gave me anything.
I would add :
* Freeze hunger bar while the player is in the inventory. Using inventory to eat all the time is okay, but dying when I'm to slow to select berries... :-/
The graphics are top quality, Sfx are few but fit perfectly.
