Pros:

Great graphics!
Easy to get into:

Cons:

I keep getting: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: No line matching interface Clip supporting format PCM_SIGNED unknown sample rate, 16 bit, stereo, 4 bytes/frame, big-endian is supported.
at javax.sound.sampled.AudioSystem.getLine(AudioSystem.java:459)
at javax.sound.sampled.AudioSystem.getClip(AudioSystem.java:503)
at net.danielseidl.ludumdare.ld48.sound.SoundEngine.playSound(SoundEngine.java:16)

Screen flickers like crazy.
Controls arn't responsive for me to dodge.

Thanks. :) You played the applet?
The applet is a little bit buggy. The jar file seems to run better.

Found a small mistake I made by converting it to a Java applet. Should now work better without flickering. :)

Nice sprite work. The gameplay is a bit dull. The controls are clunky. The enemies seemed to spawn on top of rocks/bushes frequently.
The sound effects were adorable. ;)

Graphics were nice, fun idea! I agree that the controls felt clunky. It'd be nice to be able to have more fine-grained controls. Also, I got tired of the light radius circle after awhile.

Definitely needs some variety in the sound and gameplay departments. It gets boring quick and that "weee" doesn't help one bit.
The graphics are very good and very plentiful for a 48h Compo. However, I would've rather you spent some of that time you were making sprites expanding the gameplay, adding more sounds or making music.

It's nice and simple, so that's always a thing. A couple of notes, though. First, it takes a second (well, like a half second) of holding a direction before she starts moving, which makes avoiding things awkward. Second, the bounding boxes seem to be a bit off. I was getting hurt by things I wasn't visually touching. Still, it's a good effort.

The movement could definitely be better. Even monsters had trouble moving occasionally.
The basic idea is okay, and the sound effects are funny. :)
