| Oct 7 02:00:26 | Petals | ♥ 1 | I enjoyed this. There's more strategy to the game than some people suggest - it needs a bit of spam clicking, but I did best by cultivating an area with lots of 5-petaled flowers to get a very long chain, spending as long as possible at lower levels to place pieces carefully without setting off the big chain. I got a score of 1069 by this method, although that took quite a few attempts. Something that took me a while to understand: When a flower fully blooms, it doesn't boost all surrounding flowers, only those in the pattern most recently used by the player. | |
| Oct 7 02:07:37 | 7m 11s | Runestone Alchemist | ♥ 0 | Haven't played it far yet, but the ldjam.com embed cuts off the "To stream" button which lets you get past the opening scene. The web link does work. |
| Oct 10 20:35:16 | 90h 27m | Beelines | ♥ 1 | This was a great game. Dividing attention between the different things (the small scale questions of which order to visit flowers, and the larger questions of which regions of flowers can / should each bee visit) is tricky but fun. It would be interesting to know what the optimal score for an average map is; I assume it's much better than anyone's achieved. |
| Oct 10 21:09:40 | 34m 24s | WebWeaver | ♥ 1 | A fun and well made game. Thanks for explaining the details of the web strength mechanic in the comments, it makes for an interesting problem. I like how (what I think are) the best solutions for most levels look appealing (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/String_art). |
| Oct 15 05:47:05 | 104h 37m | Death or Taxes | ♥ 1 | Fun to play and I definitely appreciated the simulation. I played it a few times to work out what was going on. It appears that you can destroy tax revenues by setting VAT higher than tariffs, creating a tax loophole where people buy from the market since that's cheaper than buying from their neighbor, and reducing income tax revenues at the same time since people can never sell more than the market demand (which isn't affected by people buying things from the market?). |
| Oct 19 02:43:59 | 92h 56m | Webbed Up! | ♥ 2 | This was a fun game with a very neat and well implemented core mechanic. I particularly liked how you need both speed and patience (and it's possible to trade some of one for the other). I also appreciated the leniency - if you knock into a bug while finishing off catching it, it counts as caught :). I played to level 30, which looks like it's the (repeating) end, although the difficulty didn't seem to increase much past level 19. @fractal given your username, you might want to check my game out. |
| Oct 20 07:46:26 | 29h 02m | Mines of Enceladus | ♥ 1 | A very spooky game - I don't think I've seen a Ludum Dare game capture that mood so well. Unfortunately, I couldn't vote on your game (I did submit to Compo, but usually everyone who makes a game can vote on each other). Did you tick the "opt out of ratings" checkbox? |
