| Dec 25 02:44:00 | Chicken Spin | Cute - I like the art style and the rotating-the-world mechanic is nifty. Could use a little more complexity, but it's fun as-is. | |
| Dec 25 02:49:00 | 5m 00s | Careful with that watering can, Trevor! | Clever! I got stuck pretty early, I'm afraid, but I really like the way it uses the two-button controls to force you to plan your route carefully. |
| Dec 25 03:02:00 | 13m 00s | AGE | Interesting! Really unusual control scheme - took some getting used to. I liked the way the character's appearance changed with their age, though I couldn't figure out what the hearts and eyes were meant to represent. Nice art as well. |
| Dec 25 03:14:00 | 12m 00s | Elevation | Fantastic! Love the concept and the execution. The elevator physics can be a bit wonky - it might be better for them to stop and reverse if they'd get stuck on a robot, rather than just letting it break through - but other than that this is outstanding. Looking forward to playing through more of it. |
| Dec 25 03:19:00 | 5m 00s | Puff' n Go | The sucker fish are a cool twist on the Flappy Bird formula - it kinda didn't feel like I had a way to avoid them between dodging columns, but I guess that was part of the challenge. Well done. |
| Dec 25 03:35:00 | 16m 00s | Ski3D | Clever! Really liked the snowman's flailing arms and the early-2000s-style 3D text. It controls well too. |
| Dec 25 03:39:00 | 4m 00s | Arc | This is great! Clear idea that turns out to be really challenging to play. The art's simple, but it's clean, and the music adds some tension to it as well. |
| Dec 25 03:41:00 | 2m 00s | bud | Nice and simple. My only complaint is that I have to use the mouse to hit the "replay" button - could easily end up in an endless loop of this if not for that. |
| Dec 25 03:45:00 | 4m 00s | spin-circle | Wow - this is incredibly well-polished. Fun concept, simple-but-challenging gameplay, slick animation, great sound. Amazing work. |
| Dec 25 03:51:00 | 6m 00s | Snowballin' | Fun! Felt almost peaceful, despite the whole barreling-down-a-mountain thing. Nice art style, and good work on the terrain generation - the way bits of it visibly rose up in front of me gave it a cool, kind of dreamlike style. Well done. |
| Dec 25 04:16:00 | 25m 00s | Torque | Fun! Liked the graphics and the level design; would have loved to see more puzzles. |
| Dec 25 04:19:00 | 3m 00s | Rainer | Clever - there's more to this than appears at first glance. It would be cool if the appearance of the land were more clearly linked to its quality / "green" level. Good music. |
| Dec 25 04:26:00 | 7m 00s | Breeze | Nifty. Getting a working parkour movement system up and running in 48 hours is seriously impressive - I had some trouble getting used to the controls, but they worked pretty well when I was doing it right. One thing that might make it feel a bit better is some texture (or pattern, or whatever) - without any points of reference, it was a bit hard to gauge your actual movement when you were looking along or at a wall. Still, nice work! |
| Dec 25 04:31:00 | 5m 00s | Moonflower | Fun! As a couple of others said, I really like the no-game-over restart mechanic. Cool art too; the animation of the flowers opening looks great. |
| Dec 25 04:34:00 | 3m 00s | bullet hell web game thingy (but really, it's a pretty ok game) | Nice work - it does feel like a stripped-down version of a classic bullet hell. Figuring out the various movement patterns is satisfying, but the random-spew segments feel pretty unfair - I couldn't figure out what to do there to avoid knocking half a dozen dots back at the center. Still, good concept and well executed. |
| Dec 25 04:40:00 | 6m 00s | Gary The Robot | Cool mechanic, and I like the backstory you provided (aww, Gary...); physics were a little wonky here and there, but the levels were fun to figure out. Nice work! |
| Dec 25 04:45:00 | 5m 00s | RUN For Your Life | Cute! Love the art. Surprisingly challenging gameplay, too. I don't think I've ever more determinedly tried to outrun a seal. :) |
| Dec 25 04:49:00 | 4m 00s | Prisoners' Dilemma | Oh, this is cool. Reminds me a bit of the way people could communicate in Journey, only more prison-y and pixel-ier. I'm glad I was at least able to take one of the guards down with me. |
| Dec 25 04:52:00 | 3m 00s | Balloon Bullies | Cute! Simple concept, but the controls make it interestingly challenging. Well done. |
| Dec 25 04:55:00 | 3m 00s | Ethereal | Peaceful. Lovely scenery - I particularly liked the subtle drifting particles overhead. |
| Dec 25 04:58:00 | 3m 00s | Molly's Dreaming | This is fantastic! Adorable graphics, great animation, cute music. Great work. |
| Dec 25 05:03:00 | 5m 00s | GrowingTrees | Very cool. Love the sinuous patterns the tree makes. I couldn't quite get the hang of steering it, though - it felt like sometimes it would turn almost immediately and sometimes it would doggedly stay pointed in the same direction. Still, nice work! |
| Dec 25 05:09:00 | 6m 00s | Limited Stunts | Cute! I like the art style ("CAR", the spotted road, the stars when you manage a trick...) and the sound effects. Kinda tricky to get anywhere with only forward and right, but I guess that's part of the challenge. Nice. |
| Dec 25 05:13:00 | 4m 00s | Santa Delivery Service | Superb art, and gameplay-wise it's an interesting take on the runner genre, but -man- is it hard. Trying to line myself up for the next chime is next to impossible. Made it to the third roof, but no further than that. I'd love to see a version of this with more standard controls - it's got a really charming look to it. |
| Dec 25 05:16:00 | 3m 00s | Spinny Whale | Cute art and the gameplay definitely has potential - the one thing that'd really help would be some more background content (clouds maybe?) so you could tell which way you're actually moving. Still, nice work; great first entry! |
| Dec 25 05:23:00 | 7m 00s | Agglomatron | Interesting! I love the way your body is actually built out of the stuff you collect, and that disabling enemies involves shooting out their... well, important bits. The physics are kind of wonky, but it feels like there's a lot of potential here - I'd love to see this idea taken further. |
| Dec 25 05:26:00 | 3m 00s | Vine Climb | Cool! Elegant, simple idea. The power-ups add a nice degree of variety, though I haven't made it far enough to use most of 'em... :) |
| Dec 25 05:32:00 | 6m 00s | Exttach | Great entry. Incredibly simple concept, extremely well executed. Nice subtle difficulty ramp too. Well done! |
