Apr 20 02:14:00 Rock Paper Scissors ATTACK! Nice little game!

I really like the graphics (the enemies animation is awesome, so is the gameover screen), and the music (simple but catchy chiptune.

I'll have two complaints though:
- The player projectiles aren't fast enough compared to the enemies. Instead of slowing down the enemies, I think you should make the "projectiles" fly faster.
- As an AZERTY user, the Q-W-E combination is a bit odd for such a fast-paced game ;).

Congrats for your entry!
Apr 20 02:27:00 13m 00s Stoned Scarecrow Nice game, I played several "runs" and I enjoyed it! :)

Your pixel art skills are impressive, this game is so beautiful and well animated - did you catch some sleep during the compo? :)

Regarding the game, it's well designed, and I see the "play it several times to get xp mecanic", but I think you should be a bit more generous when giving XP to player - 1 skill point per level is very few, and it's quite long to get a new level (it took me 5 fives run to get to level 2 in XP)

Also, you should add the controls in the description, it took me some time to figure out that "Z" is used to shoot :)
(at first, I thought that it was an endless runner game, so avoid enemies only)
Apr 20 02:29:00 2m 00s BlueBlaze I can't seem to be able to load the game - I see the loading bar, then "blank screen". (I use FF on WinXP)
Apr 20 14:49:00 12h 20m Hug Arena Excellent game (as usual). I like the heavy retro feel (it feels like a GameGear game), and the overall gameplay - it's fun to play, easy to understand but hard to master (some bullet firing enemies are tough), and the "love" idea is great. The sounds is excellent too!

Chapeau :)!
Apr 20 15:30:00 41m 00s Mouton This game looks so fun, unfortunately I get a "grey screen" after the loading animation (i've waited 5 min, still stuck on this screen) - is it normal?
Apr 20 15:45:00 15m 00s EDDA Excellent idea, I love your take on the theme! The game has an incredibly relaxing mood, with beautiful art and good music.

My only complaint would be the lack of feedback. I "beat" two poets, but during the game it's sometimes hard to see if you did an interesting poem or not (the crowd is cheerful sometimes, but maybe they should "boo" at bad poems too?)

Any very innovative and creative entry, congratulations!
Apr 20 15:48:00 3m 00s I've got the flower ! Nice and fun action-packed game!
The cow-launcher is incredibly funnny, and an efficient way to fight pollution! :)

Congratulations!
Apr 20 16:00:00 12m 00s Jungle Hair Challenging but fun game I love it!
The graphics are beautiful, and the idea is interesting - another solid entry!
Apr 20 19:13:00 3h 13m Blackboard Wars Nice entry, I love the general feeling - it reminds me of school :)

The graphics are superb, but the gameplay can easily be fooled: I kept firing at random height, and I sometime were able to kill enemies before they even show up on the screen ;)
Apr 20 19:19:00 6m 00s Hatchet Harry stupidly funny idea, and very nice and polished execution. It kept me busy for more than 15 minutes :)
I love the music too, very entertaining.
Apr 20 20:52:00 1h 33m Randomsmith Nice idea!

It seems there is a problem with your Windows build archive - I've downloaded it and when launching the game I have the "this program is not a valid Win32 application" error message (I'm using WinXP)
Apr 20 21:03:00 11m 00s One of them Woaw, quite a shocking game (in the positive meaning of "shock")! Very effective and well though "social impact game", congratulation.

Outstanding take on the theme too (I've read your intention note, very interesting).
Apr 20 21:26:00 23m 00s Badass Inc Oh my God... I'm astounded that you created such a polished, interesting and fun game is such a short time. Your art and music skills are more and more impressive, so are your game design skills, and now even your storytelling abilities.

I hope you'll turn this in a full-featured (maybe commercial) game - I really want to know what all those cops where doing here! :)
Apr 20 23:04:00 1h 38m Eurovision: world domination through the power of song Outstanding idea, and great work on the audio - some of these songs are actually cool - when are you going to release an OST for your game? :)

Regarding the game itself, it's a bit hard to understand the logic behind votes and it's a bit too long as the years go by (maybe doing a "mini-eurovision with less countries each would make the game faster to play), and, as many others, I ended up losing several contest in a row (4 years) with my country (France) - 100% realistic ;).

You should expand the game (refine UI) in a post-compo version, because your concept very neat!
Apr 20 23:11:00 7m 00s Alien Escape Nice entry, doing a turn-based game isn't an easy choice is 48h. I like the 2.5D look with a "ZX Spectrum" feeling, and the gameplay is interesting (grabbing enemies to to throw them onto others foe).

Two complaints:
- When there is no more action point, the player turn should end automatically, to avoid a useless "end" button clicking
-I encountered a bug in level 2: I was given the choice to "grab" while all the enemies where more than one black way from me, and I was stuck there.

Congrats on creating all this in 48h!
Apr 21 19:18:00 20h 07m Fathom Outstanding game! Fun to play, original idea, excellent graphics and audio - nothing to say against this game, it's close to perfection! It reminds me of good old SNES games :)
Apr 23 16:35:00 45h 17m Banana Nana An actual NES game developed in 48h? outstanding! And the game is quite nice too, you totally deserve a 5/5 overall for this!

My only complaint would be the lack of "life bar" displayed on screen, and the lack of a way to regain life, because the game is quite challenging. But the graphics are very nice, so is the gameplay I like how you can throw the boomerang on the left side of the screen to have it reappear on the right side and flow all over the screen).

I hope you'll create a "post-compo" version of this game!

I'm curious - what kind of tools/library did you use to create the game? Please write a post-mortem, it'll be very interesting to read!
Apr 23 18:39:00 2h 04m Shield Maiden Excellent game! The art and music are gorgeous, and the game is very fun to play. It's quite challenging, but I like that - it reminds me of Megaman :)
Apr 23 18:48:00 9m 00s Eraser Interesting entry! I like the "game & watch" art and movement style a lot :)
The core gameplay is interesting, and the levels you designed offer a smoothly increasing difficulty curse. I also like the humor in the game (Splash!)

My only complaint is about the fact that we cannot restart at the last level when we die - It's very hard and frustrating to have to redo all the game from the beginning, especially when we discover a new "enemy" or a difficult level - I hope you'll do a "post-compo" version with unlimited continues, so your game can also be enjoyed by non-hardcore gamers! :)
Apr 23 19:05:00 17m 00s The Grand Carpet Hotel Nice idea, well executed, I like it! :)

My only complaint would be that once we loose a level, we have to restart in the basement - way too frustrating for a game with many level like yours :)

I like the graphics style too, and the humor throughout the game!
Apr 23 19:09:00 4m 00s It's The Room Great idea and fun game! The music and graphics set a very relaxing mood, and I like the mouse-launching mechanic - it reminds me of those old "pocket flipper" games that we had as kids :)

Congrats, you made a very original entry!
Apr 23 19:24:00 15m 00s A Way Out Woaw, the game offers such a great mood - I love the music and the graphics!

The game itself is fun to play, I like the core idea, especially how you didn't limit yourself to "word typing" but also included the ship movement and space to fire. Kudos for releasing such a polished game in such a short timeframe!
Apr 23 19:29:00 5m 00s Myopia Cool game, with a very powerful and relaxing mood, I love it! The idea is interesting and fun to play, and this music... it's just excellent! Overall, a good "trance-inducing" game :)
Apr 24 19:25:00 23h 56m A Knight and A Line Woaw, you just won the "most original platform/tool" for this LD I guess! :)
Congratulations on thinking about and doing this, it's very original and innovative. The game itself is quite classical, but I like the graphics and the humor, a although it may have been interesting to have more "meaningful" choices for each screen (here, only one is valid in the end).

Anyway, congrats! :)
Apr 24 19:33:00 8m 00s Mosquito attack Funny idea, it's fun to play and made me laugh (I like how your wife is still sleeping although she's on fire when you lose ;)). Too bad the game is so short, you should do a post compo version with more levels! And I definitively like your art style.

Bravo ! :)
Apr 24 19:46:00 13m 00s The Island Nice Entry, I really enjoyed the song (I see that you are a dubstep producer, and it shows!). The game idea is nice (spear throwing), but the game suffers from several bugs (I finished the cave level with -50% of energy, I launched the spear through a zombie and it did'nt kill it, but then he walked on a spear on the floor and died instantly), although it didn't prevent me from actually having a lot of fun completing it - so congrats for your game.

P.S.: Next time, please think of non-QWERTY keyboard users: http://ludumdare.com/compo/2015/04/24/why-z-is-a-bad-action-key/
Apr 25 02:18:00 6h 32m I am Gonna Smack You With My Words! Nice entry! I like the core idea: it's original and well executed! :) The music is entertaining too, congrats!
Apr 28 14:14:00 83h 56m Chlorine Dawn Woaw, very interesting entry, and excellent take on the theme!

I like the "turn-based" puzzle approach, and the game delivers a very great mood. I played many levels but I eventually got stuck in a level, and got bored after 12 unsuccessful tries - it's the level with a lot of rocks, a lever, and two "planks" that can be picked up (but I still haven't figured out their use).

Anyway, a great entry for 48h! And it's nice to see I wasn't the only one to take "Geneva convention" approach on the theme ;)!
Apr 30 17:18:00 51h 04m The true Weapon Good mood and nice entry, and quite a challenging game.
For a post-compo update, you should try to make more "non-QWERTY" keyboard friendly :)
May 3 14:36:00 69h 18m Mission Imporksable Nice Entry! I like the music and the graphics, and congrats for creating a stealth game is such a short time! :)
May 3 14:46:00 10m 00s Captain BearBeard Excellent idea, I love the bouncing belly weapon concept! :)
The game is quite beautiful too (I like the cartoony style), and very very fun to play (but challenging)

One suggestion: maybe it would make the game easier to play if when pressing "down" the bear would stop bouncing immediately - I was hit a lot of time because I wasn't jumping high enough, and pressing "down", waiting for the bear to reach the ground, then "up" again was too much to do before getting hit by the enemies (or maybe you should slow down the enemies a bit?)

Anyway, great work, I enjoyed your entry a lot! :)
May 3 15:04:00 18m 00s Fencing in Wonderland Very nice entry, I love it!

I love the graphics (outstanding style) and music, it set a very "weird but pleasant" mood to the game. The gameplay is nice too, I enjoyed jumping around and thrusting my flamingo here and there!

My only complaint would be the lack of a clear "end game" screen state - While it's nice to watch the animations in the background to know who is winning, I think that if the game paused after each round to clearly announce the winner, it would enhance the game greatly IMHO :)
May 3 15:10:00 6m 00s Battle of Tolzford Woaw, outstanding entry! I love the art style, and your overall idea / approach to the theme. The different endings made me laugh! This game is a great love letter to Japanese rpg games! :)

Excellent work!
May 3 15:13:00 3m 00s The Mighty Night of the Spooky Evil Nice little entry - it made me laugh several time :)! A good effort for only 3 hours of work, you should make a post-compo version with even more strange choices :)
May 5 01:16:00 34h 03m Class Clown Nice entry! Clever use of the theme, and fun game overall - I love those ballons in the gym class, just throwing them all over the place is a quick and cool way to win the level! :)
May 5 01:20:00 4m 00s Game 404 Too bad you didn't had more time to finish your entry, as this look like the basics of some very fun puzzle-platformer game. The physics is nice and the game plays smoothly, you should continue working on this game post-compo! :)
May 5 01:30:00 10m 00s Frazzle Dazzle Excellent entry, I love it! Fun and challenging platform game, nice graphics and catchy tune! It's impressive that you built all this (with a huge level) in 48h! Congrats! :)
May 5 01:37:00 7m 00s Turbo Moon Hero Very original and innovative gameplay idea, I like it! The game is quite challenging though, maybe you should allow the player to change orbit direction instead of only changing the rotation speed? (it's frustrating to see a missile coming and to miss it because the hero is 1/100 second to slow or too fast)
May 5 01:52:00 15m 00s Ay Pinatas! I love this retro-pixel game: very fun and entertaining! It's a shame that there is no sound, because it's the only elements missing from an otherwise very polished game! The levels is quite long to kill all the 100 pinatas, especially the last screen! It reminds me of NES-era game, a great entry!
May 8 22:56:00 93h 04m The Legend of the Yo-Yo Salesman Nice entry, very creative weapon idea! I like the overall art style, the music, and the way the yoyo moves around the screen!

Too bad you couldn't add more stuffs during the compo, because your post-compo version is indeed more polished (screen shakes, yeah!) - although I think that the red bud too strong an enemy for a first encounter IHMO (the flies of the compo version were fine).

Anyway, congrats!
May 8 23:04:00 8m 00s I'm sorry, I'm jealous Nice entry, I like the humour and general mood of it! The gameplay is simple but very effective (i needed 4 runs to win the game), and your pixel art style is brilliant!

Congrats on this entry, I would love to see a post-compo with random targets, more weapons, and more rooms to explore! :)
May 9 22:28:00 23h 24m Crookman Excellent game - I didn't know you could make such intense game with Twine!

I like the art, the idea, and the final result - a perfect LD entry!
May 9 23:42:00 1h 14m Crayon Poke Woaw, very impressive entry. I'm amazed to see such a polished game created in such a short time - it looks like a commercial GBA game! :)

My only complaint would be in the way-too-furstating level design and overall difficulty: it's nice that the game offers a nice challenge, but some trap feel a bit unfair (like that pig that must crushes blocks, then that you also have to avoid to climb up to to the roof everytime of fall, and if he hit you, you'll restart the whole thing. Same goes when you have to throw a lot of crayon to jump over the pikes), but it's still amazing that you designed so many different obstacles in such a short time frame. Did you even catch some sleep during the 72h event? :)
May 10 22:25:00 22h 43m Exhaust Nice entry, I reminds me of Lander, but it's way more fun to play! :)
May 10 22:28:00 3m 00s Zombie dinner Cool entry! I like your take on the theme (very humourous), and the graphics style is great! Fun game, you should expand it post-compo :)
May 10 22:38:00 10m 00s Math Quest Nice idea and interesting game. And kudos for creating an educational game in 48h! :)

The game is cool to play, but it would be better maybe if the PC would fight back, for example each time we make a mistake! :)
May 10 23:27:00 49m 00s Guide 2 Where? Woaw, outstanding entry! The game is very original and entertaining - I spent about 1 hour playing it, but I still haven't found the "congratulations" ending (and I'm actually out of ideas on how to reach it - I hope you'll make a walkthrough :)).

I like how you can learn about the backstory on a "bad" ending (in a way, your story reminds me a lot of the movie "The One" starring Jet li :)), and the dual texting idea is brilliant!

My only complaint: the fingers holding the phone sometimes make the text hard to read (well, i no longer worried about it on my 10th play, but on my first couple tries it did bug me).

Congratulations on this game, I hope you'll reach a high rank on innovation because you clearly deserve it!
May 11 17:54:00 18h 27m FIREFLY GUN ! Nice retro-feeling entry. I love the music and graphics. The gameplay is a bit weird at first, but then it gets interesting to explore this giant star-filled maze! :)
