| Apr 28 02:10:00 | Deepeon | Amazing atmosphere and art style. I love the sounds as well as the effects on the water with your torch. Some of the sounds were jarring and rather scary, however I think that was the intention. I found the earlier levels very easy and the later levels were difficult. The difficulty curve felt well done and seems like you have a handle on it. <br/> <br/>I look forward to what you make in the future, keep it up! | |
| Apr 28 02:21:00 | 11m 00s | Deep Sea Salvage | This is a very well done game. I LOVE the pixel art and the bubbles are fantastic. The gameplay feels solid, and everything works as you would expect! This is the type of game that makes the top 100. I would have like some sounds, but I am not complaining because the other aspects of the game were done so well. Keep. it. up! I look forward to what you make in the future! |
| Apr 28 03:19:00 | 58m 00s | The Core Eaters | There is just something exhilarating about firing your ship at a planet, turning at the last second, and flying off into space. <br/> <br/>Good work, gameplay feels very solid, the music is very nice, and the graphics are fine. I like your unique integration of the theme. <br/> <br/>I would have enjoyed sounds. (Fire, ship thrust, sun bad guy dispersal, etc.) I can see why you didn't do it, as the music is very nice and atmospheric, but rather hollow, perhaps that is what you were going for. |
| Apr 28 04:50:00 | 1h 31m | Necro | I don't think I quite get the concept. It seems like an okay game, but I don't think I fully understand it. Nice sounds, good graphics, feels solid. Keep it up. |
| Apr 28 04:54:00 | 4m 00s | Damn Sharks | YAR HAR FIDDLEY DEEEEE <br/>(This is my second favourite game so. I love the flippy sub and shooting missiles.) I had a proper chuff YAR HAR FIDDLEY DE BEING A PIRATE IS OUR RIGHT TO BE DO WHAT YOU WANT COS A PIRATE IS FREE, YOU AREEE A PIIRRRAAATEEE. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IBH4g_ua5es That's my favourite sea chanty. <br/> <br/>Anyway, on to the actual game: solid game play (My high score is 6.) it's fun, and I really enjoyed singing my own sea shanties, that is a feature most modern AAA games lack. (Wow even AC4 Black Flag didn't have it. Lame.) <br/> <br/>"AC4 with guns" - 420/360 IGN |
| Apr 28 05:00:00 | 6m 00s | Surf Ace Splashdown | Good work! Original take on the theme, okay graphics, nice sounds! Keep it up! |
| Apr 28 20:32:00 | 15h 32m | Captain P | Pretty solid game. The mechanics feel rock solid and you obviously put a lot of work into this game. <br/> <br/>The art is nice, and things that are inherent to the Unity engine work fine. (physics, buttons, text, etc.) Since this was a Jam entry, I would have really like some sounds, but that's not a big deal. One thing this game is really lacking, however, is a notifier for when the level is complete. On the first level I just screwed around long after I had found all the pieces because their was no indication if I was done. <br/> <br/>Anyway, all in all, it's a fine game, pretty solid and a bit of fun. However, for being a Jam entry, I think some things were missing. Keep it up. 8/10. |
| Apr 28 21:20:00 | 48m 00s | Havoc2d | Very impressed with this game. Very fun, nice physics, good graphics, nice sounds, very good upgrading system, and it fit the theme well. I wish scores were implemented, but the amazing gameplay experience made up for that. The WASD + Space hand posture got tiring after a few minutes, but that's not a big deal. I would love to see a arrow key adaptation. Considering your released your source, I may add it myself. Would it be okay if I released it with an arrow key add-on? Keep it up! |
| Apr 28 21:23:00 | 3m 00s | Kolony | At first, I thought this game was rather boring, the ants are meh, meh graphics, but, after playing for a little while, I fell oddly in love with this game. <br/> <br/>I really enjoy building little paths for my ants and watch them discover it, making routes up to the surface, and seeing them come up for food. Somethin' magical about ants, man. Keep up the good work. |
| Apr 28 22:06:00 | 43m 00s | Driller Rush | Solid game. Good graphics, nice sounds, good take on the theme. Game seems very polished and well done overall. |
| Apr 29 22:59:00 | 24h 53m | Free Fall | Cool game! Okay graphics, nice sounds, solid gameplay. A fun little endless runner. Since this is just a Stencyl game, I don't know why you don't just upload it to dropbox or something and have a web option, that's probably bringing down your number of players significantly. The background hurts my eyes some, and certain gaps are impossible to get through unless you are in the exact right spot at all times. Overall pretty good work, but it could use some more polish! I've uploaded the swf to my dropbox, feel free to use this as the "Web" option if you want. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/57962942/Free%20Fall/Free%20Fall.swf |
| Apr 29 23:05:00 | 6m 00s | Hey, you!! | I played for quite a long time and only had one item and one wallet get stolen. I didn't notice anything. I think the stealing needs to happen more frequently and be easier to notice. Aside from those small nitpicks, the game is very solid, plays well, has a unique art style, and uses good sound design to make the atmosphere feel hectic like a real train. Good work. |
| Apr 29 23:14:00 | 9m 00s | Planet Dig! | The Windows version does not work for me. After the tutorial, all I am getting is a black screen with the info of the game. http://i.imgur.com/51qfh0t.png I extacted the .exe out of the .zip, so it's not a compression issue. Windows 7 64. |
| May 1 22:44:00 | 47h 30m | Train Wreck | Fun game. It's a bit hard and takes a minute to get used to. Fine art and nice sounds. I would have liked a windowed option, but it's a game made in 48 hours, what should I expect? Haha. Good work! |
| May 1 22:52:00 | 8m 00s | Defend your Kingdom | I survived for 61 seconds. <br/> <br/>Good game, nice sounds, fine graphics, solid plot, good mechanics. <br/>The animations on the archers were interesting. If you use the mouse and you right click, the Unity Web context menu comes up. <br/> <br/>I would have liked a downloadable version. Just like how some people don't like downloadable games, some people don't like games in browser. I get a worse experience when playing a game in a browser, and that impacts how well I rate games. <br/> <br/>Aside from my small nitpicks, this game is very solid and feels well made. I liked your unique take on the theme. <br/> <br/>Keep making games. |
| May 1 22:56:00 | 4m 00s | Dig or Die | After starting that game, I can't seem to do anything? The is responsive and fine, but none of my actions seem to be doing anything. Because I don't feel like I know how to play, I am not rating this game, sorry. |
| May 1 23:00:00 | 4m 00s | Ama | Great game. I loved the art, the sounds were very nice, and the game played well. Solid story matched with interesting gameplay makes for a fun game. I liked your unique take on the theme! No real problems that I could find. <br/> <br/>GOOD WORK! |
| May 2 23:43:00 | 24h 43m | Dive | A very fun game with great sounds, nice graphics, and solid gameplay. I would buy this. |
| May 2 23:47:00 | 4m 00s | Skeleton Invasion | A nice game. Fine graphics with solid gameplay make this game a good time. I would have liked some sounds. I assume it's intentional, but on the second wave, both my cannons, and my archer were hitting the bad guys 300 times over and they were not dying, weird. Keep it up! |
| May 3 00:13:00 | 26m 00s | Under The Sea | Nice game, especially for your first LD! <br/> <br/>It took me about five minutes to understand what to do, but once I got it, the game was enjoyable and quite relaxing in a way. The sounds were rather jarring, so I muted my audio. Nothing personal, they were just too much. If you added just some nice ambient sea music, with very soft *plinks* and *plunks* when you do actions, it would just be too good to be true. Aside from that the gameplay was pretty nice. I have secretly always wanted a maintenance game where you are just always running back in and forth fixing things, bringing resources around, and keeping your base up to snuff. Games like Rust and Minecraft worked for the most part for me, but this is like those games in their purest forms. <br/> <br/>It was not at first clear to me how to get resources, I would just tap once on a resource and get nothing and decide they weren't the correct resource or something. Another secret gaming desire I have always had is game about leveling. Literally. I just want to do an action, watch a bar go up, the skill number go up a little bit and when I do it 9000 times, the game pats me on the head and gives me the ability to do that action again, but a little bit better. The more actions I can preform and the more little bars I can make go up, the better. This is why I played WoW. If you created a var to handle skills for each resource, and added a couple more resources, each resource controlling the skill vars, I would play nothing else; ever. <br/> <br/>The graphics were solid, the gameplay was okay, and the sounds were LD quality. (What do expect from a game that does the graphics and gameplay so solidly in 48 hours? You can't have it all.) <br/> <br/>One little thing I did have, that would be rather easy to fix, the background moves whether you are actually moving in the gamespace, or not. This is most evident when you continue to walk into an item in your base. At first, I thought I could push my base around because the background was moving when I would push into the items. A simple if(collideWithItems()){ no push } could fix this just fine. <br/> <br/>The .zip also contains both the 01 version, and the 02 version. It is unclear if this is done with intention. <br/> <br/>Anyway. This game is in my top three I have played this Ludum Dare, and could definitely be "the one I remember". I look forward to what you do in the future, and hope you can use my feedback to become an even better developer! KEEP. IT. UP! |
| May 3 00:42:00 | 29m 00s | Fish Goes Fishing | Solid game, nice sounds, good graphics. I kept forgetting the red fish were bad and that there wasn't a size growing element to this game, but that's my fault. Overall a fine game, really enjoy the music and sound. Why does it say 2013 on the title screen? |
| May 4 16:49:00 | 40h 07m | Ben Eath the Surf Ace | Really fun an interesting game. The sounds are nice, art is good, and the gameplay is solid. I really liked seeing my waves being created as I made them. I found this game hard to play with a keyboard, but it was quite fun and easy with a controller. Good work! |
| May 4 16:58:00 | 9m 00s | Treasure Dive Buddy | Good sounds, nice graphics, and the gameplay feels solid. Certain restrictions on when you can swim are odd and feels to strict. The camera moves oddly slow (I think this was the intention) so I was just waiting around at the bottom of the screen waiting for more air. Overall good work. |
| May 4 17:31:00 | 33m 00s | Drill18: The Mars Project | Rats. There is an end. This is in my top three games I have ever played for a Ludum Dare. It is one of the most fun, compelling, and all around well done. The art is good, the sound and music are great, the mechanics just work. In a way, this sort reminds me of Cookie Clicker or something, where you are just always upgrading to get more cookies so you can upgrade to get more cookies so you can upgrade to get more cookies so y- Well, you get it. But it works in this case! Even my biggest gripe with this game is very small. The workers are kind of stupid and slow. Big whoop. I love the building a colony sort of thing and watching them all run around. Very very very good job. (The humor in the beginning is some of the best LD plot I have ever read. Into the sun.) If you polished this game and put it up for sale, I would buy it. |
| May 4 17:40:00 | 9m 00s | It Came From... Beneath!! | I wish you could control your worm in the air. The sounds seem a random and way too loud. Overall good job. Nice graphics. |
| May 4 22:15:00 | 4h 35m | Kill or Kill | Good work! This game is pretty hard and I had a difficult time with certain mechanics. I found the cops a little bit too quick and it would be nice if they could only see things x pixels away as I often had a hard time slipping past them. The camera is a bit weird. Movement feels very good. Sounds and graphics are nice and suit this game well. Very frustrating, but in kind of a good way! Keep it up. |
| May 4 22:32:00 | 17m 00s | Fight The Infection | Tested this game on a slow computer, Unity launcher defaulted to native screen resolution with no options in the drop down to change it. I assume this was intentional as in all other Unity games I have played, there are at least 480p-1080p options available. Because of the high resolution, I was not able to play this game without playing at 5 FPS. I am not rating this game because I don't feel as if I could reasonably play it. Please do not lock your resolution. Not only was the game unplayable, because it was native resolution the UI was off the screen. The only solution to fix the UI would to be to play in fullscreen, but that would only make the game perform worse. While it is true, the computer I am testing on this is crap, there is literally no reason to lock the resolution. |
