| May 4 22:40:00 | New Dawn | I love that you guys were able to create a whole world for a jam and stuck to a certain oppressive atmosphere. Great story for being made within 72 hours. My only issue comes from the game's flow. Playing the LD29 version, I got stuck after picking up the ID. After checking a number of doors, I just assumed all of the doors were un-usable. I felt like I was wandering around aimlessly for a bit before finding the right door to progress. Think some type of hint/objective system would alleviate this a bit. But overall, great game! | |
| May 4 22:48:00 | 8m 00s | Save Us | Great audio design and very unique gameplay. Pretty difficult to make it far in a level. One thing I noticed was that when ever I made it far, it was hard to pay attention to the overlaid text. Enjoyed it quite a bit! |
| May 4 22:53:00 | 5m 00s | A Miner's Life | Fun game with solid controls. Simple game play but the power ups and screen tilts later on add quite a bit to the difficulty. Quite polished for being a 48 hour submission. Good stuff. |
| May 4 23:02:00 | 9m 00s | Under Soul | Great mood. The concept works very well with the theme. Music and visuals are very polished for a 48 hour game. The one thing I found was at odds was how frustrating the gameplay was when trying to figure out a puzzle versus how relaxing the visuals and audio were. Anyways, really impressive overall. |
| May 4 23:17:00 | 15m 00s | Mind Therapy | My personal favorite entry so far. Simplistic visuals work well in the game's favor and the audio work is fantastic for setting the mood. Narrative was great but didn't have me hooked initially. Loved that the gameplay of bulking up and getting skinny directly fed into the narration. Once that came to light, you had me to the end. Lovely game. Great work. |
| May 4 23:27:00 | 10m 00s | 0x1D | I think the concept of this game is great but actually playing through seems more difficult than it should be. It really works well with the theme. I love how many options the game gives you in tackling problems but actually executing a plan is hard and requires quite precise controls. I would love to see a version of this game with smoother, more fleshed out controls. |
| May 4 23:43:00 | 16m 00s | Deep Water | Fun little game. Good audio work with the transitions from ship to swimming being really noticeable. Sharks are pretty unforgiving and swimming down for the keys and treasures gets pretty tense. Bug I ran into was dying as I was near by boat but still being able to get into my boat with the treasure. |
| May 4 23:54:00 | 11m 00s | Tunnel Digger: Artifact Man | Nice level design but ran into a few places where the way forward wasn't entirely clear and taking the wrong path meant having to restart the level or restart a section. A few of those get frustrating after awhile. Otherwise, the slow ramp up of new items and enemies makes this game fun. Killing those spider things was way more satisfying than it should be. |
| May 5 00:02:00 | 8m 00s | Into the Earth | So this game has potential but a few issues were too frustrating to get past. First the player character's movement was all sorts of off. Going from stationary to moving left or right took way longer than it should've. Jumping causing the player's left or right movement to stop felt off. Putting boxes near the first level's counter became difficult after the 4th. I feel like a little more polish and I would have enjoyed this a lot more. |
| May 5 00:22:00 | 20m 00s | Beyond The Surface The Chaos Rises | Awesome music and a pretty unique art style. It took some time to figure out how to play but once I got the hang of it, the game was pretty fun. The progression works really well with your card collection carrying over each match. Finding the right cards to play in a fight worked well and the game has good balance for a 72 hour jam. |
| May 5 00:30:00 | 8m 00s | Gorilla 2100 | Simple game but very fun. Played a few rounds against the AI. It seemed to randomly get close to me and then be completely off in the next shot. Visuals were pretty unique and it sticks to the theme well. Good game overall. |
| May 5 00:42:00 | 12m 00s | Worm Simulator 2014: Ultimate Home Wrecker Edition | Game looks great but the hats look out of place. The digging felt smooth but the game would hitch often when moving to new areas. I kind of wish there were some type of objectives in the game. Reminds me of the old Tremors movies. I eventually got stuck in one of the buildings and couldn't destroy my way out of it. |
| May 5 00:56:00 | 14m 00s | UnderTheLibrary | Very polished platformer. Good story and it was just plain fun exploring after you started to pick up various books. My only complaint would be how loose falling left and right were when certain areas required precise controls. Otherwise, great job! |
| May 5 01:04:00 | 8m 00s | Mine[ing] | Good attempt at a digging game. Wonky collision made it so that I could easily end up within a block just by holding down jump. |
| May 5 01:13:00 | 9m 00s | Bajo la superficie | Very distinct and unique look to this game with a good combination of 3d and 2d elements. It had solid platforming but tended to get tedious towards the end as nothing was really added to it. |
| May 5 01:21:00 | 8m 00s | It Came from Beneath the Surface: Wormgun | So I used a keyboard as a controller and it seemed pretty difficult to control the worm for precise turns or movement. This made some of the puzzles a bit more difficult than they could've been. Having said that, the actual movement of the worm through the ground and gaining speed feels fantastic. Flying from the ground through the air is also great. Very simple yet satisfying movement. Good job overall. |
| May 5 01:35:00 | 14m 00s | Underground | Neat concept and great mood. Felt like I was just waiting for my entire crew to be lost. Good tension with each passing day and having the short clips after each day really adds to the uniqueness of each play through. It would help to have some sort of feedback to the player to indicate when it is safe to dig or build up a base if it is not completely random. Losing that last guy kind of sucks when not given any warning. |
