Dec 17 03:58:00 You Are The Virus Well, I'm sorry, but I just didn't have much fun with this. The antibodies move way too fast, faster than the white blood cells, and I couldn't make it past level 2. It would also be nice if you were able to restart from the stage you failed if you die, as restarting the whole game everytime is kind of unforgiving. It was, however, very frantic, and I liked the feel it gave me, despite being mercilessly hard. So if that's the kind of game you like, then power to you! Unfortunately though, its just not my cup of tea...
Dec 17 04:07:00 9m 00s You Are The Virus I must say, this game was a blast to play, but it still had its problems. Most notably, your level generation code is a bit wonky. Quite often I would be stuck due to unbeatable stages. Also, the way the screen scrolls makes it hard to keep track of whats going on, especially in conjunction with the graphics used; not to say the graphics were bad, I actually like the minimalist style you have here. It probably would be better to make the screen stay still and have the whole maze show up on the screen. Anyway, those are my two cents, and I hope you continue this game, it actually has a lot of potential in my honest opinion.
Dec 17 04:38:00 31m 00s Planet Xulub This one could have been better, and for many reasons. First of all, I don't really see how this has much to do with the theme, the closest thing to villainy that the game has is killing innocent aliens. While I guess that's evil, it seems like it was simply fitted around the theme. The grappling beam is cool, but its really glitchy. Is it a bunch of different objects? Because it kept getting caught on scenery, splitting the beam in two. One time, the end of the beam caught one of the aliens, and continued to go forward, flying right past the edge of the screen, before eventually coming back (fortunately...). Also, the gameplay is tedious. Killing ten of these aliens is already excessive, but having to hunt down one of those purple crystals each time is even more so. About 4 aliens in, it starts to get boring, and the one line message at the end doesn't make it worthwhile to beat the game; it doesn't help that the one line goes off the edge of the screen. However, to your credit, the graphics are really good, minus the fact that the left and right walking animations don't make the character look like he's walking. All in all, I'd say you've got a potentially nice gem here, but it needs a lot of polish to make anything good.
Dec 17 14:40:00 10h 02m Minions I personally liked this one. The random encounters are often at least slightly humorous, and the turn based gameplay suits this game well. I really enjoyed building up a massive army; but this unfortunately leads to my main complaint about this game, its too easy. After a few minutes, your undead army will be so large that its nearly unstoppable, and because of that, I flew through the rest of the game. It was really fun, but I hope if you continue this game, you either make it longer or more challenging (but preferably both).
Dec 17 14:52:00 12m 00s HeroDontSavePrincess Alright, I must say this one was pretty cool. First of all, I really love the graphical vibe you give off with this one, all the graphics fit together really nice. The concept you picked is also really different, I haven't seen it before (well, except in my game...now that I think about it, thats probably why I like it so much...). The 8-bit sound effects fit in wonderfully, not one of the sounds sound off. There are two complaints I have though. First, the theme is a bit cliched, you know, a knight trying to save a princess, but it doesn't ruin the game or anything, so its okay. Second, however, is the difficulty, there's only a few good spots to place the block, and you can't place more than one per hero life. This makes it really challenging to experiment, as it only takes one wrong placement to lose the game and start all over. All in all, its a great game, but if you continue it, I suggest that you make it a bit easier.
Dec 17 15:39:00 47m 00s DinoBurgers This one is pretty nice, its a lot of fun to play. The later waves are a bit challenging, but not to the point of frustration, just enough to keep you playing to the end. I really like the minimalist pixel art (though the dinosaur graphics clashed with everything else...), and the sound effects fit really nicely as well. I really liked the whole feel of the game, but it doesn't really have much to do with being a villain if you ask me. However, I still think the game is nice, and its very wacky and humorous. If you were to continue this, the only advice I could give you is to add more enemies, locations, or waves, but it stands well as it is.
Dec 17 15:52:00 13m 00s Dark World I really like this one. The graphics look absolutely amazing, and the feel of the game is really set up nicely. Its also really fun to play, but as you said, the platform physics are a little wonky. The sound effects are good, but the music just seems unfitting to me. All in all, its really good, but it needs more solid platforming, and more fitting music.
Dec 17 16:28:00 36m 00s Kleptomaniac Well, I personally didn't enjoy this one. The movement is really awkward. You have to move with the z key while moving the mouse to move. This gets annoying really quickly, especially on a laptop mousepad. It probably would be better to use the arrow keys. I don't really like the look of the graphics, but that's just me, and its not like it kills the gameplay. Other than that, its okay, but it could probably be better. If you were to continue this, the first thing I would suggest is to make the character move with the arrow keys. That alone would make the game run so much smoother and fun to play.
Dec 17 17:27:00 59m 00s The Fix I can't rate this game because I wasn't able to download it, I think the link is broken.
Dec 17 18:29:00 1h 02m Goat Hate Jug Band All right, this game was kinda weird, but not in a bad way. Its a nice idea I guess, but I don't like how the bar works. It took me until level 2 to realize that you can only make noise when the outside of the Breath-o-meter is green. Also, the goat doesn't really seem like a villain to me, but that might just be me. The graphics, music, and sounds go together really well, and add to the strange, trippy, early 90's Nickelodeon feel I get from this. Its really amusing, but unfortunately it wears of quickly, due to the game being repetitive. All in all, its a pretty okay game, it just doesn't really fit the theme well (even the sub-theme seems a bit forced...). If you were to continue this, you'd probably need to add more substance to it, because as of now, it feels like a Wario-Ware micro-game at best, and a cruddy flash game at worst.
Dec 17 18:36:00 7m 00s Salvation Alright, this game is great except for one major problem. Its too short. I mean, its not very innovative, being a generic platformer, but the mechanics are really solid. The stylized graphics are really nice, and while I think the music is a bit repetitive, it fits the feel the graphics and level design give very nicely. All in all, its pretty good, and if you were to continue this game, add more to it. Even if you don't continue it, I say you should at least use the engine for another project, as it feels to solid not to be used for anything.
Dec 17 19:05:00 29m 00s Cure 48 Overall I thought the game was really cool. The game is really nice, and the ending really does make you think. (You've got to admit that just about everyone started killing the slime...) The feel I'm getting from the graphics and music is really nice. All in all, its a really nice game, and I would love to see more added on.
Dec 17 19:36:00 31m 00s Vivi, the Greatest Villain Well, I'd say that overall the game was good. It felt consistent and coherent in feel (although I think the main characters graphics clashed a bit...). The only thing that really annoyed me is the maze stage, but its not that your game was poorly designed, I just generally don't like mazes... All in all, its a pretty great game, though if you don't mind me asking, whats the levels folder for? Editing the files in there doesn't seem to do anything in-game.
Dec 17 20:06:00 30m 00s Second Skin Well, its a really nice start, but it has some very obvious problems. The first is that there is no shortcuts for the powers. You have to cycle through with r and t each time you want a different power. Second, the graphics on the powers make it hard to tell which power is which. Finally, every time you switch powers, you lose your skin, so it gets annoying when trying to attack guards. You should at least keep it until you use a power. Other than that though its really good and I think you should continue it. Its really fun, and minus the graphics, the game has a really nice and creepy feel to it.
Dec 17 20:35:00 29m 00s Lack of Texture Adventure Well, I didn't really enjoy this one. Don't get me wrong, it was fun, but it was really hard and nearly impossible to win. The gameplay was fun, but a bit cliche with no real twists, not that its a bad thing. The only "bad" thing I can say about it is that the enemy AI is just so ruthless. They follow you relentlessly, whilst ganging up on you at the bottom. The ones that can shoot, however, are even worse! They can shoot at you from any angle, and since bullets can go through walls, it makes them really hard to dodge. All and all, its okay, but it simply lacks polish. I guess this is forgivable, since its your first game in (I'm assuming you're using anyway, due to the .jar file) Java, but when you continue this, I would really consider redoing the enemy AI.
Dec 17 20:59:00 24m 00s Micro Mob All in all this one is really nice. The graphics and music go together really well, I like the sort of 50s vibe its giving me. Its also really fun to play, if you like real time strategy games that is. My only complaint is that the stats are not well explained. It took me a while to figure out that fresh blood is how many new recruits you get per 15 seconds. Once you figure out how the system works, its really easy however. I went for all the cheaper properties before the fuzz got to them, and then took out the fez's properties one by one. Its a really nice game, but I really think you should make a better tutorial for it.
Dec 17 21:47:00 48m 00s Zombie Tower Defence I really liked this one, the only problem is that it gets obsessively hard later on in the game. I couldn't get past level 23. Nevertheless, this game was really fun, the graphics and sound are nice, and fit the game perfectly! I really hope you continue this one.
Dec 17 22:11:00 24m 00s You are the Evil Overlord I thoroughly enjoyed this one. Commanding a whole army of minions at once with only verbal abuse was quite interesting to say the least. I both do and don't like the simplistic graphics, they look almost like your watching some sort of primitive satellite tracking from afar, which sorta helps the whole all-seeing evil mastermind vibe. The voice commands are pretty humorous, and I only wish you did some voice acting. All in all, it was really fun, and I hope you continue it.
Dec 17 22:35:00 24m 00s Dragon Boss I must say, this game was a blast to play. It was quick paced and action packed; I didn't get bored playing once, even after I won. The graphics are nice, as is the music, and they both fit the arcade-y vibe that the game gave off. If you want to make a larger game with this, you certainly have a good base, and I hope to see more if you do. The only thing that got annoying is the stamina, it runs out too quickly in my opinion.
Dec 17 23:52:00 1h 17m Monologuer Alright, this one is really cool. The whole micromanagement thing is challenging, but not to the point of being annoying, so it kept me playing for a while. The graphics and music remind me a lot of an Atari game. If I had to pick one thing as my favorite however, it would be the things the villain says. Its all of that pretentious and witty dialouge you'd expect from one of those hilarious to watch villains in the media. The only problem is its sometimes a bit hard to move back and forth between everything. You should probably be able to squish the good guys at all times. All in all, its a really great game, and I hope to see more.
Dec 18 00:37:00 45m 00s Your Mind Hates You Its a nice start, but this game needs a lot of polish. It took a long time to figure out the stages, as the game really needs to recognize more phrases. The graphics aren't spectacular, but a text game doesn't really need them, so they aren't a problem. I did, however, really like the humor when you type something unexpected (and by that, I mean the you like poop from the screenshot...)Its an okay game, but it just needs so much more before it can become a great game.
Dec 18 00:55:00 18m 00s Royal Reptile Rampage This was pretty nice overall. It was fun to play and didn't get repetitive until close to the end. I think maybe you should add more to this game and try to keep too many archers from ganging up on you, it gets annoying sometimes. Also, the controls are a bit awkward, but that's probably just me. I really like the cartoony look of the graphics, it reminds me of Yoshi's Island for some reason. I hope you continue this, as it has some potential to be a nice game, just add some more rampaging and make it easier to do so...
Dec 18 03:06:00 2h 11m Sixxy the Puppy Well, this one was pretty weird. First off, I don't get how this fits under "You are the Villain", the worst thing you really do is misbehave. However, I will admit that its pretty funny when you achieve behemoth. I had a blast plowing over everything. The graphics are good and the sound effects are okay. They give me sort of an early DOS vibe. The animations on the sprites are really fluid and well done. All in all, its okay, but a bit too short. Also, please don't try to do jump scares. No one finds them funny or scary anymore.
Dec 18 03:17:00 11m 00s You're a Bastard! Well, this game was okay. The game is pretty fun, and the multiple minigames reminds me of Wario Ware microgames. However, because of these minigames always being the same, there's no replay value. The in-game text was mildly humorous, and I chuckled at least once. Also, for some reason, it crashed at the final stage when I was replaying it (without closing the game). All in all, its good for what it is, but you really should add more minigames.
Dec 18 03:26:00 9m 00s Entropy I must say, I really didn't like this one at all. First of all, its way, WAY to random, and I keep getting stuck with blocks all around me, the window crashes randomly, its just not fun. Also, I'm sorry, but I don't see how this fits in with "You are the Villain", it seems more like you took a game from another idea and tried to force it into this one. Its pretty bad in my honest opinion, so if you wanted to make a longer game with a concept like this, it probably would be best to start over.
Dec 18 03:39:00 13m 00s The Red Hood This one was okay. It seems like it was originally meant for night and day, but I guess it still works. I really like the style you used for the graphics, and the sounds are pretty nice. It was fun for a short while, but then it started to get boring. All in all, its a pretty nice game, and I think more should be added to it.
Dec 18 03:52:00 13m 00s Target: Restaurant ! Its nice, but I'm not sure if its possible to get the waiter fired. The graphics however were nicely done, and its a shame you didn't have more time to finish...
Dec 18 04:05:00 13m 00s Rest in Pixels All and all, this is really nice for a first game! The graphics look really good, and the music complements it nicely. Its also pretty fun, but the platforming is a bit awkward with you not being able to jump and relying on those glitchy beams. Its good so far, but it still needs a bit more polish.
Dec 18 04:21:00 16m 00s Super Natural Habitat Destroyer I really liked this one! The tree chopping is fun, the upgrades are fun, this game is just a lot of fun in my honest opinion. The graphics are really cool, and the catchy son in the background is nice too. All in all, its a great game, and it would be nice to see more than 5 stages. I hope you work more with this.
Dec 18 15:14:00 10h 53m Conquer The Kingdom I really liked this one. It progresses very nicely and is fun to play. The graphics and sound go together quite nicely. I also liked the ending, but to answer it, go back and kill the knights you skipped. All in all, great game, and I say you could make a pretty good platformer with this engine.
Dec 18 15:48:00 34m 00s Twisted Minion I don't mean to be mean, but I personally didn't like this one. Its very easy to glitch out the hero, and if you don't, then its extremely hard to win. Either way though, all that the strategy boils down to is to mash the x button. The graphics are pretty sub-par, but not to the point where the game is impossible to play, and the music is pretty bad. All in all, I think you should start over. There's not really much with potential here IMHO.
Dec 18 16:17:00 29m 00s Dungeon Tycoon This is really nice! Its really fun to play once you find a good strategy. The sound effects and graphics are both really nice. The only problem is that when you win, the hit sound effect keeps playing over and over really fast.Fix that (and maybe set the placing of objects to a grid), and this game would be even cooler. If you were to continue this, the first thing I would suggest (aside from fixing the sound glitch at the end) is to add more enemies. The zombies are really weak, and it takes a good amount of them to kill any heroes.
Dec 18 16:44:00 27m 00s In My Evil Dream Its pretty good! I had a lot of fun with this game, especially on the dark side. I never was able to defeat the final boss though, its a bit too hard to hit something that fast with the bow... All in all, its a great game that you should make longer.
Dec 18 16:50:00 6m 00s You Are Satan Can't rate this one, it doesn't load for whatever reason.
Dec 18 17:04:00 14m 00s Splendorman Its pretty nice, but there are still flaws. The teleportation is pretty much useless as you can't teleport through trees and the range is very limited. Also, its hard to sneak up on the player character, as the instant you get seen, you are stuck with static on the screen (I know this happens in Slender, but its annoying here). All in all, its okay, and the graphics are superb, but the mechanics still need a bit of work.
Dec 21 18:29:00 73h 25m Journey Of Evil I liked this one a lot. The graphics have a nice style, and its pretty fun to play once you figure it out. My only complaint is how annoying it is to comsume villagers, maybe you should make it so that all dead villagers on screen will be consumed.
Dec 21 20:49:00 2h 20m Kidnap the Princess I didn't really like this game to be honest. I didn't really feel like a villain in this game, and the attack was very glitchy. It didn't even work the first few times I tried it. The graphics and music were sub-par, but I guess its good for only two hours...
