If you want to not have any variety, just play safe and don't add anything, you will survive without any trouble but it will be bland forever. But if you choose to be adventurous and add some music to your life, it gets more and more difficult. If you get too adventurous, the elements that give music to your life itself can cause harm and bring you to your death earlier.
