It was definitely very quaint. :)
The first play through I was only able to get one gold coin, but with no number on it.
The second play through (pressing E to try again) I couldn't get any coin to appear.
At the end of the second play through it didn't have the "E" icon when it said press "E" to try again.
On the third play through I was having the same problem as the second one... unable to get any coins what-so-ever.
I also couldn't figure out how to suck up a specific color, or when the whale was "full". It sometimes seemed like he would squint but it was very inconsistent.
Also, it seemed that I was always just covering up all the other colors I sprayed with whatever color I just picked up, so the cloud always end up just looking like a single color with a few specs of another by the end of it all...
I was originally thinking this was going to be some kind of "collect items as you fall" kinda game, but was pleasantly surprised by the direction you took it.
Would definitely be a lot of fun with more polish!

Once again, my apologies for not getting it the first time. It really turned out to be a great game!
I can see how it is confusing without knowing what to do.
For anyone else wondering: position the whale's blowhole over whatever color you want to suck up, press and hold E. Move away when you have the amount you want. Release E when you want to spray it. You can keep sucking until the bar is discolored.
Love the theme and the sound effects. Was challenging trying to get the more complex shapes, and I forgot there was a purple bar so was trying to suck equal amounts of blue and red. :)
@Daan : It wasn't that that was confusing me... I didn't realize the pot was telling me which color to use. :/
