Wow! Very interesting concept and idea. So cool!
had fun. i only wish there were an option to set the spirit number for the prompt, because if i don't want any of the three given entities, i have to guess, and most of the time my prompts yielded sth that required 3+ spirit. for example, if i visualise "a ghoul", it requires 7 spirit, but if i set 3 spirit constraint, i can get "a young ghoul", which also strikes first, but has less attack and health
This is a really interesting concept and I'm super glad I found this one! The one issue I had is that almost anything I came up with wasn't "energy" type. I couldn't figure out what I needed to visualize to get one that was.
2 knights and a possessed raccoon is the winning strat
I really like this! This type of game is my jam. (Played the post-jam version)
I love card battlers. I love innovative games that let you create anything you imagine.
For this particular game... I wish it was a little more evolved. I had more of idea on my second run how everything worked. Would have been nice to do a type tutorial, and have maybe a few tries of practice conjurations. Also, I wanted to see a glossary of legal abilities to add. Most of the abilities I wanted to add weren't in the game.
This was great though! I would definitely play a new version of this, or if you turn it into a full game, I will buy it.
@pollykarm Thank you very much!
@wakanake Agreed, things were too expensive, and it affected the fun. If you care to try out the Post Jam version, you now get 3 Sigil options for everything you request, scaling by power and cost, so you have a Large, Medium, and Small option basically. Thanks for the feedback, it really helped!
@shanzpro So glad you enjoyed. Yes I think I needed to communicate the damage types better! In the Post Jam version there are now better suggested Sigils that feature the ideal damage type for the situation. And yes, "2 knights and a possessed raccoon" is def the way to go 🤣 Thanks!
@silas-reinagel Glad you liked it! Yes I think in general I need to communicate the rules better with the player. That will take some UX/UI polishing. Thanks for the feedback and the supportive words
I’m not a fan of card games, but I’ll be honest: I really enjoyed this one. My kids had a great time with it, too. Using AI to generate the cards is phenomenal. I created some very "Brazilian" things, and the AI provided the exact description for each item (for example, President Lula’s finger). I’m really curious to know how you pulled that off! It was a bit tough to win—since, as I mentioned, I’m not into this genre, which made it harder to strategize—but I didn’t give up until I managed at least one victory. I noticed that some things are impossible to create—like an "all-destroying atomic bomb" that costs 30 spirits—which is a clever way to prevent abuse. The graphics are simple yet attractive; the slightly glossy art style looks great. I also loved how the illustration on each card directly relates to what you create—a really nice, thoughtful touch. I’m not sure if 8 turns is the right number. The closest game I can think of is *Inscryption*, and I don’t recall it having a turn limit. What made you decide to include a turn limit instead of letting the battle end only when someone’s HP hits zero? This game’s creativity really took me by surprise. I hadn’t heard of this "machine" concept before. The simple thumbnail didn’t catch my eye, but the name did—*Phantasma* is essentially the Portuguese word for "ghost" (*fantasma*), so I wondered if it was made by Brazilians. Turns out, Texas is quite a long way from Brazil! Congratulations for a fantastic game.
Fun card game!
OMG, magic, old tech!!! It reminded me of Inscryption, and I’m happy. It seems I need more time to get into the game, but I’m really impressed by the graphics: they’re very beautiful. If you had artists, then kudos to them and the animators! Good luck with the game jam!
P.S. Try playing my game — it’s about other old tech. I’d be very grateful!!!
Very cool and nice implementation of AI into the game. Do I understand correctly that you trained your model and based on what the player writes it returns the correct sprites, stats and special abilities? Im just wondering, what is the running cost of it? The graphics are super neat as well, the glowy look is so nice. Haven't seen anything like this before. Great job!
The work of visualization was so unexpected! Firstly, I didn't get how to make a good card, but when I realized... That was so fun, good job! PS: I summoned the best I know
