The best game in history! It has great potential.
interesting idea!
Good job! keep making more games!
Interesting idea!
I liked the rhythm reward progression. The more you hit, the stronger the projectile. I also enjoyed destroying the trash. There's something useful about it.
Out of five runs, my best was level 17.
It's a shame they didn't have time to implement elemental leveling. Then the progression would have been even better! Thanks for the game, you're great.
This review does not really say much, so I think the Ludum Dare website might have a bug.
This is a rhythm shooting game with a very beginner-friendly tutorial, and the music is really good. One issue I ran into was that enemies often got stuck and would not come toward me, so I sometimes had trouble even finding them. Also, fighting off endlessly spawning banana peels and empty plastic bottles felt a little odd.
The idea is very interesting. The game itself could be more polished - better UI - especially in tutorial - the text was fading out too quickly (had to restart the game to actually get to know how to play). Also, I managed to crash the game somehow (mashing LMB). I managed to kill some trash until they flooded me. Nice idea worth exploring further!
@goodwayman Thanks for the feedback!
We’ll improve the tutorial. Maybe for example, to place the instructions directly in the scene instead of using fading UI text, so players can keep seeing the guidance more clearly without it taking up too much of the screen.
@mantou Thanks for the feedback! We’re really glad you enjoyed the music and found the tutorial beginner-friendly.
The issue with enemies getting stuck is likely due to our current obstacle setup making objects “feel” bigger than they actually are, so enemies can get blocked. We’ll definitely improve the algorithm and fix that.
And yeah… the banana peels and plastic bottles do feel a bit off in terms of the environmental message 😅 We’ll work on refining the enemy design to better match the theme.
@yarcha Thanks so much for the feedback! And wow, level 17 is seriously impressive — our own best during testing was only around level 11 haha.
Really educational game! The trees block the view a bit, and monsters can get stuck on objects in the level. It might just be me, but the audio and visuals feel slightly out of sync. Overall though it's pretty fun. Also when you hit restart, the BGM suddenly snaps back to its original state. Great game!
@zhong-zhengchao Honestly, I took advantage of a game vulnerability. All I had to do was stand at a certain point in the level and keep clicking in time with the rhythm Hahaha
This setting is quite grand. The players are fighting on behalf of the Earth, which I think is quite meaningful. The screen also has a BPM indication, which I think is quite thoughtful. This screen reminds me of the style of the Warcraft game from a few years ago. Hahaha, I think the developer is quite experienced. I'm looking forward to the next works.
Nice game idea!
