Love the distinctive visual style, reminds me of classic retro aesthetics. The puzzle design is clever and kept me engaged all the way through. Solid entry!
I love the scene! The overall drawing is very delicate, but the precision is slightly inconsistent, and the font of the dialog box is a bit too large. I like the small animations of characters and items popping up and down!

Wow, Conway’s Game of Life as a puzzle! Back in the day as a young computer science student I made Conway’s Game of Life run in the terminal such a fun challenge. Your game brought back that nearly forgotten memory, thanks. I really enjoyed the puzzles. The only thing I would change is to not reshow the dialog when retrying a level due to a failed attempt. I understand the time crunch, overall excellent entry!
Quite liked the graphics of this, it's a good extension of conway's game of life. Little annoying to have to go through the dialog of each level when you need to restart it though. Overall good work :D

This had a lot more narrative than I was expecting! Very interesting use of Conway's game of life to make a puzzle game! Was always such a fun comp sci program to implement during college. The art was great! I wish the first intro also had the "next" button as it seemed to be based on time and I hit the refresh button once and had to wait for it all a second time. All in all I really enjoyed the game though! Very strong atmosphere and take on the theme.
Nice puzzles and learning curves! I expect this Conway's game of life gameplay can dig out of some "huge" puzzles www

The good news is we've already released a post-jam update that adds a skip feature (just press SPACE at the start of game). Note: this updated version is currently in Chinese, but the skipping works! @nicardo Great question! I actually pull a lot of my ideas from my early days of practicing algorithms on LeetCode—Conway's Game of Life is a perfect example of that. I also think the N-Queens puzzle is super interesting. It has huge potential for a game, I just haven't found the right way to adapt its rules into a fun gameplay loop yet!

I actually spent quite a bit of time figuring out how to make this game accessible to casual puzzle players. My ultimate solution was to use the early levels to showcase specific patterns, and then have players utilize those patterns in the later stages. This way, even if players don't mentally simulate the outcomes or fully master the complex rules of Conway's Game of Life, they can still comfortably clear the story mode!

Very cool art style, sounds and puzzles.
This puzzle-solving gameplay offers plenty of room for creative design. The strategies that emerge from reusing certain paths are quite refreshing. That said, I find the deduction based on Conway's Game of Life rather abstract and not very intuitive, which poses a challenge for the difficulty balancing and mechanical expansion of future levels. Good art style.
