The art and sound design are fantastic!
First of all this is some absolutely fantastic visuals. All of the random NPCs are so unique, and their dialogue is absolutely filled with life. That little animal crossing esque speech really makes me want to hear everything they have to say. I love all of these little critters so much! AND OH MY GOD THE GAME OVER SCREEN NO THEY'RE CRYING :sob:
The dumpsters themselves are also very well made, the garbage is that awesome blend of repulsive and cute somehow? I really like the way the 2.5d style pops when you're inside one of them. Scurrying behind big juice boxes really puts the size of the player into the perspective. The gameplay loop is very enjoyable, making active decisions on what I want to pick up while dodging cockroaches is really engaging. But I feel like a lot of this game is dragged down by bugs (the most common one I found was just not being able to go into any of the dumpsters, though I had one where I was softlocked from ever dumpster diving because entering a dumpster would just spawn me at the spawn point in the starting area) and cluelessness as to what my exact goals and objectives are from the start.
This is really cool, but I really hope you have the time to fix the bugs and just generally polish the game before the deadline.
