Cool choice of retro graphics.

The game itself was pretty frustrating, getting shot from something you couldn't see killed it for me. Still I went through first level and almost the second level and tried the third one to see if I could do it.

Should there have been music? It was in the settings but at least I didn't hear any.

Anyways, the project idea seems cool although the game itself feels lacking. Maybe if I could just have enjoyed the feeling of speed more without being shot at by something hidden behind hill or otherwise far away, it would have felt better.

What a fun game! I just adore the graphics. First I thought the "hard" setting would mean ridiculous speeds, but you made the track go all windy instead. Which is ok, but it did feel a bit slow to me.

As you're developing a post-jam version, maybe these suggestions will help: - add some epic music. The right music will create a feeling of urgency - maybe a bit faster? The speed was too slow for me I feel - as tomssuli said: being shot by an (still) invisible enemy is no fun, maybe make the bullets reach less far? That way you can hear them because the're shooting, but the bullets will only hit when you're near enough

I think it's impressive that you did this in Java. Is it all custom code?
