I made a mess of a village

I enjoyed the simplicity of this and it reminded me of early-alpha minecraft days (and not the chopping trees part). Just the quiet loneliness of the world - just imagining how large this forest could actually be...
Actually, be right back, imma try to reach the edge!
Ok, it's not that large. Also turns out you can place houses in the void

Anyways - my point was that starting out in this game feels very lonely, but in a good way. When I first encountered the edge and saw the gray I thought "these must be mountains". I'd like if there were mountains :)
I'd really like to see this game expanded on and I hope you had a nice jam. Great effort for your first 3D game. Maybe give my game a try, if you like :3
Very good

The game has a nice idea, I just felt a bit uncomfortable with the controls, WASD + Q/E was a bit hard to do at the same time. Arrow keys on the right and left hand for actions would have felt better. Good job for 3D work alone! It's a nice concept for relaxing!

I liked that the space was limited not just by the map but mostly the trees. Its a simple thing, but it made the game more enjoyable for me. Its a shame that you didnt have the time needed to implement what you wanted to, but whats there is solid and I think everyone enjoys making a pretty forest villafge ^^ Looking forward to your next one!
@im-not-a-robot: Thanks a lot for the kind words and extensive playtesting. My (overly ambitious) plans were to have several stages that kept reducing your available space every time you thought you'd cleared out an area, like forest fire that needed to be limited, requiring you to tear down buildings and make new types etc. Reaching the edge wasn't in the plans, and I'm surprised anyone bothered trying =D
@traq-kay: Thank you for trying my simple game! I'll probably make a main menu mock-up as the first thing next time, I personally hate not being able to rebind keys, but somehow I've now made 2 LDjam games without a menu..
@jadener: Thanks for making a pretty forest village =) I find it hard to prioritize what to work on, my ambition for next game is to push development of any improvements until all my planned mechanics are in. We'll see how that goes x)

it's a shame that the game doesn't lead anywhere, but I understand that 72 hours for one person can be quite a bit, especially when it first switches to 3D
if you ever finish the game I'd love to play it :D I'm glad you accepted this challenge
