Great job! I really like the art direction!
This is a great game for your first ever Ludum Dare! However, the tutorial takes way too much time, and the text is very slow. It would be better if you allowed the player to skip or speed up the text by clicking.
Additional, the rules and the time left should always be clearly visible on screen. I found it very annoying when I could not see how much time I had left.
Regardless of the issues I had, this game is very impressive and fun to play! It reminds me a great deal of Papers Please. Great work!
OK, couple of important ones to start off with. This game is complicated, but I am not sure that it was completely necessary to have THAT much tutorial. The game bugged out and I ended up seeing more tutorial than game! Something I see a whole lot is people putting the theme of the game into the text, which you did, but personally I don’t think that this is necessary. I know that death is inevitable, and that inevitability is the theme of this jam, so you don’t really have to say it. I don’t want to sound like I am complaining, but I think these are some important things. The sound design was pretty legit, didn’t want that to go unnoticed. The gameplay seemed pretty fun, although I didn’t see that much of it unfortunately. Very intense, easy to mess up because you are going to fast! I liked it, so don’t be discouraged by my comment, I never want to bring you down. I think your work is amazing, and the effort put in was far more than that of some I have seen! I really liked the menu btw.
