The art direction and sound in this entry really kick ass. The abstract shooter style makes me think of Kenta Cho's work.
I really love how the enemy evolve between each level. It's like player's perk in rogue like turn on its head. And some evolution are really cool. If I may nit-picky I would say it didn't force me to play radically different so the experience didn't change much overall, well except the the difficulty of course.
