Can you please notice me when the Windows build will be done? Because it looks like a very interesting game :)
Btw, which game engine did you used?
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD44 → Skeleton Arena

@odlog-oglog Windows build now up.
The game uses a custom engine I built from scratch.
Still missing the GUI but nice work
Woah, game too fast. But it can turn into good battle simulator
I really liked the game's smooth combat system, it really has a good feeling. Good edition was that all the skeletons attack each other too and not just the player. I would like a HP bar though, but it's not that important.
One more thing, which code language did you used? I know I'am annoying but self made game engine is pretty rare when it comes to Ludum Dare
Anyway good job! :)
@odlog-oglog I use c++. There is a health bar, its the red block at the bottom of the screen.
You can adjust the window size in data/settings.def. I didn't have time to add a settings menu.
The fighting felt pretty fun. This would be interesting to come back and play once you've had more time. Nice job!
this game is my spirit animal, and i mean that in the best possible way. never have i felt my bones rattle as loudly as i did playing this. i felt like i was drunk on ten gallons of milk. 10/10 doesn't even begin to describe it, would get stealkilled while skittling diagonally again.
in all seriousness, i love this game's humor, even if a lot of it is unintentional (in fact, that's what makes it better). the feeling of being chased by a mob of casually jogging skeletons is something phenomenal. mechanics-wise, the fighting was actually kinda fun once you learn how to do it! a bit more health would have made it more balanced, since you die so quickly after a hit or two. i would love to see what this could turn into after some more work!
It's fun to play! The animations are very good. The swing of the sword, the block with the shield: very nice:smile:! Good job!
really funny game :hearts:
It's a fun game. i am undead. oh……ha……oh I'm dead
It remind me of the fun days playing mount & blade!
Decent game, but I think the health should perhaps be in a more noticeable position, such as over the player's head. Or simply at the top of the screen because the resolution didn't allow me to see the health bar if it was at the bottom.
Arena games are fun! Smooth gameplay, lethal shopping.
Real dope animation. I wished there was a way to heal so I could last longer tho. Well done AI as well.
Not bad. I couldn't get the shield block to work properly, seemed to be too slow to respond to attacks, maybe? I wish I could look around and it was annoying when there's no opponents around and I can't find them.
Added a post compo version if anyone is interested.
This is a pretty innovative game of where you use health to buy weapons and armor before each round. Combat felt fluid and fresh each round. Different experience each time going in. This game is one of my favorite entries I've played so far, great job! Also congrats on making your own engine, that's really impressive
Wow pretty impressive gameplay! Fightin feels really natural, movement is pretty neat. Id would've been great to be able to rotate the camera as I got lost sometimes. Armor felt a bit unncessesary as it was too expensive and the missing health was better than the armor itself (or at least that's what i felt). It's a pretty solid entry! Great job!!
The swordfighting feels good but I am either really bad or the game is really hard. I felt as if I got almost instakilled most of the time even with shield and using block. Nice animations and a nice functional shop!
