Seemed ok up until the second level where enemies come out of black spots and instantly pin you and rip your health down. Might have been ok if enemies had been shown to come out of black spots beforehand.

Nice game ! It seems very hard to become a legendary warrior haha !

It was quite fun to play, well done :)

Pretty fun) But the difficulty curve is a bit strange. At first, it was too easy, but then I'm dying with 11k health O_o

Not bad! You did quite a good job with the graphics, although try to keep all of your pixel art the same resolution/pixels per unit. The sound effects weren't bad, but the gun sounds could be a little louder. Also, some music would have been nice; if you don't have music software I recommend Bosca Ceiol as a starting point!

It seems like a good game but the balance is badly done you have 24 bullets for a few dozens of enemies that swarm you. Really digging the charming and simple graphics

@alex-davies Yeah, this was the first time i've done sound in unity ever and it was during the last hour, so it was pretty confusing and i had to figure it out fast.

@bleyo I agree i didn't have time to balance it a lot, but you you start with 500 health which is plenty to buy ammo and do some of the more easier levels(1 and 3).

salamander 2019-04-30 19:05

@kai It's and ambush, it's suposed to suprise you. :D

@salamander That's real world logic. In game design logic, being hit repeatedly out of nowhere with no foreshadowing is a bit poor.

So congrats on making the game for the compo! It's always a tight deadline, so what you did with it was pretty good. I enjoyed the challenge and actually spent a while in the last stage before I ran out of bullets and my system was slowing down because of the amount of enemies spawning.

Wished the sounds that were there were punchier and there was some music for the background. I also found myself wanting a knife attack or something for when I ran out of bullets, but I see that running out of bullets is also part of the life theme, so it makes sense.

I gave an overall 3.0 as the idea of using your Health to buy items is rather standard, but I thought it was an intriguing idea to have the bullets also count as a win/lose condition.
