Man, this game is hard. Couldn't get past the two samurais at the same time. But I loved the facial expression of the emperor.

OH MY LORD THIS GAME IS HARD!!

At first I fought the enemies by blocking and countering with the 3 swing combo. But this didnt work very well for more than 2 enemies. I feel that the swinging combos were too slow and once the combo started, you couldnt cancel it with a block. I got lucky the first time I beat the game as the enemies came at me one by one.

After beating the game once, I needed to see the second ending (wont spoil it for other people) but the second time was much harder as I wasnt as lucky as last time. I first tried running past the enemies to attack them from behind while they were attacking in the opposite direction, but this didnt work very well since the enemies didn't always do combos and, especially in groups, it was hard to run past all of them without getting hit.

After about 30 minutes of trial and error I figured out that the combo was very ineffective and tried timing my attacks so that I would only use the first attack in the combo, making the attacks much quicker. This was much more effective and I managed to beat the game a second time (finally) :sweat_smile: I also gave up on trying to block attacks at this point as the time frame allowed for a successful block is quite short.

I believe the combat could be improved, especially with groups of enemies. It is very easy to get stun locked by multiple enemies, and once that happens, you are basically dead. Also, the block could be more responsive in terms of using it to break a combo and also giving it a longer time frame for a successful block would help. Movement sideways also seemed a little slow, not sure if this was physics based or just a design choice, but it did limit my choices in strategy.

Otherwise, this game is very well made. A stellar soundtrack that fits the samurai theme very nicely! Nice pixel graphics and character designs.

Overall great game! Sorry if I seem nitpicky here, just wanted to provide some constructive feedback :smile: It was a really nice challenge! I'd love to see more of these types of games.

Played 15 minutes but never got past the 3 enemies... I like the art and the audio but... This game would benefit from a jump button, and more health for the Samurai. Sorry I didn't finish it...
