I think doing a VR game for Ludum Dare is not a good idea. Not a lot of person will be able to play your game. It's look great but we can't play..

@itplay I think it's a good idea. I'm aware most people won't be able to play it. However I learned how to make a VR game and have even begun the process of marketing it on the Oculus store. And people who can play will be able to play and give feedback. I'm not really trying to win.

Glad you think the game looks good!

I got your game to run on my Oculus! This was fun! Definitely felt like I was running out of space. The first time I ran it, my touch controllers couldn't be found, so I just watched the boxes pile up around me. Second try they worked ok, most of the boxes and conveyer belt were at the edge of my perimeter and the sensors were lost sometimes. Windows didn't want me to run your game because of the unknown publisher of the .exe. The game never had an ending, so I just threw boxes around for a while enjoying the physics. Thanks for making this game!

@mgoadric Thanks so much for playing! the game did have an end but I accidentally broke the code by making a quick fix before the deadline :/ glad you enjoyed it!

Can you export it to work on HTC Vive?

I have a WMR and a Vive and would love to play the game.

@saoi-games Unfortunatley the game was made with the oculus sdk so it wouldnt work with HTC vive. However if it is released on the oculus store I believe there are tools to run oculus games on the vive :)

I Have used Revive before, and there is rumor that Vive port is supporting oculus, so let me see if I can get it to work.

I tried your experience. It reminded me of experiences that I've done where I forgot to enable SteamVR Plugin. Unity had a Plugin that you can use for free that will allow the game to work on Vive and Windows Mixed Reality. I believe it also works with Oculus. https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/templates/systems/steamvr-plugin-32647

Everything was displaying fine in the headset, except I had no hands. You game required hands. I tried to use Revive to open the experience, but still, it didn't register my controllers so that I couldn't interact with packages. I tried on my Windows Mixed Reality and HTC Vive with no luck.

I think the experience could have been good if I could interact with the packages. I tried to headbutt them into place, but I didn't collide with any objects.

The music was a nice touch. It built up the tension, but I would have liked for a definitive end game state. The music abruptly ended and restarted without a Game Over Screen, so I was left to wonder if that was it or whether I should expect more.

Without hands, I felt a bit like a gambler at a horse track rooting for a horse to win, without the ability to alter the outcome in any way. I kept thinking If only that yellow package would somehow glide over the pile on the floor, it could make it into its correct spot, and I could get the point. It made me realize that the layout of the boxes could have been improved. Ideally, you'd have the packaged coming off a belt that was parallel with the boxes and forms a growing pile at the end since it is dumping things on the floor at the end of the belt. Then the player would need to stand perpendicular to the boxes and the belt, sorting items from one side to the other as long as everything is within reach of their arm span.

An alternative layout would have the end of the belt hitting at the bottom center of the box arrangement so that when things pile up, they are not pushing one specific color into the appropriate place. Players should have to work for all their points, and not luck into them.

Overall I think the experience has a lot of potential. Adding more sound effects for when a package is successfully delivered, and when it hits the ground would add a nice polish, but other than the limitation of the SDK you used, this is a solid LD entry.

@saoi-games thanks! too bad you could get hands working that's very strange. not sure why that didn't work. head butting won't work there isnt a collider where the headset is.
