3D artist did a great job anyway :D Nice game! Somehow I could chill while playing this, perhaps thanks to this music and general mood that this game gives.
So I was kinda annoyed, I couldn't seem to find the version for jam, so I played the post-jam version anyways.
For one, there seems to be a lot of content for the time provided, I was surprised when I looked in the screenshots and saw tons of levels of spells, then you say you get one at the end of each level. The problem is, I was ready to move on after about the first level.
The fire ball felt real slow inbetween shots. I feel like it could have been more entertaining if there were more enemies and a faster attack rate. Especially when it came to breaking boxes, It'd take me a solid minute to knock out some of the piles of barrels. It kinda makes it a grind to clear out rooms.
Graphically it felt a bit of a hodgepodge. Some of it seemed to be into the heavy polygonal flat shaded style, some was textured with simple designs. I feel like sticking to one style would help give the game a bit more identity.
Also, I tried to use my normal WASD controls and found half of them to be working the other half not. My guess is a difference in keyboards (AZERTY?) thankfully the standard unity launcher let's you change this, but might be something you want to note.
Fun game! And I really enjoyed the spell effects!
- wasd movement broken - no pause - music didnt fit - long levels repetitive, just 3 types of enemies - nice lighting and cool low poly assets - health bar cant go full - camera settings: walking down is more dangerous then walking up - player feedback on getting hit - hitting range from cactus is insane - levels are very repetetive and are getting sort of boring overall very nice, but I would have liked to see more level design
I don't really know where is the connection with the theme. But overall the game is good, saw a big effort on make things look nice, perhabs on the next, or even on a post jam, version you can toy with the Unity Stack Postprocessing, will add a lot of visual cues to the game.
First off, I see great potential in this one. You did a good job in the time you had.
But, First off the controls are **awful** (Sure you can change them when launching the game but it should really be wasd by default) Also the fighting got really boring with no sound effects, there was no *"uumph"* to them so to speak. The theme connection was pretty weak, agreed more spells adds some bad part to the existing ones but that's not really "worse" if you as a wizard gets stronger each time.
Then there are these archer skeletons, they start firing at you the moment you see a glimpse of them and fire at the same rate as you, forcing you to fire off-screen in their direction. This is **not** fun, even tho they are the only real threat in the game as far as I played.
Lastly, this looks like it could become something if you put some more effort on the gameplay side, I really liked the style the moment I saw the screenshots.

the game restarted after I acquired the 6th box is this normal or glitch? The game idea is nice but the levels are too long considering that there are only 4 enemies that keep repeating :( overall decent game with a unique idea, but stretched too much (more gameplay time does not always mean better game :D ) On a side note, I really enjoyed how the stability issues sometimes makes weapons stronger and sometimes weaker
