Well, the game is really too easy. I like the concept, but all you do is continue to click your hardest attacks until the person is insulted enough. Then buy the next best insult or whatever and continue. If you run out of energy then just choose the next lowest. Played for about 30mins and was entertained. But, I probably won't play it again. Good job. I love the concept. There needs to be more to the game though than just throwing insults. Some insults should heal the other player (if they hate their mom and you say, "your mom" that should heal them.) Give the attacks meaning instead of spamming the hardest hitting attack.
Thanks for the feedback, asharwood. That was definitely one of the things that I felt was lacking (depth, other than just spamming attacks, as you mentioned).
Yeah, i just spammed the most powerful attack too. Not sure its quite inside the compo rules with the images, might be better in the jam?

fits with the theme well enough, and as the previous comments stated, it is a bit easy with just throwing out the worst insult, not a terrible idea though and kind of funny :)
@revilossor, yeah, this was my first LD, and I'm not 100% familiar with everything. I wanted to take pictures of my friends for it, but ran out of time. Thanks for the feedback.
@magicrat, thanks.

I read in your blog that you felt you were not up to snuff with your C skills. I feel you should have tried anyway, even if you kept this idea and made a text adventure with C and some library, that would get your feet wet and start to give you ideas of what problems to expect for the next LD.
Anyway, about this game. It was not a bad idea, but it lacked depth. I found the attacks of the opponents pretty amusing. Maybe instead of battling one opponent at a time, you might have turned this into a "management" game instead, where you have a number of actions per "day", to distribute between attacking many different people in your circle -- some to try to break them away, others to prevent them from attacking you. That could be interesting.
Cheers!
