| Oct 19 20:16:21 | Rotabot | ♥ 2 | I was aware people would (as I had that idea as well) come with the idea to invent their own ancient tech. But this was unexpected in my book! I like the art, how it points at people controlling AI robots and the game mechanic in very fun (this is my first rating this LD60). The focus lays on controlling the thing, the tix tac toe game with the continue rules was less focused on which fits this one. Nice game! Though I do not see myself playing this longer then a few minutes, as there was little different for me. | |
| Oct 21 14:13:22 | 41h 57m | Pinball Parkour | ♥ 1 | I SUCK at this 😆 So, the graphics are simple but clear, there is no tutorial but with trial and error you'll get there for a gamejam. For me it was complicated as you needed different ways to move things which confued me and gave me stress when I was about to fall oooops. I have not finished the game as I was repeating the same bit over and over but it was not a bad one at all. I do miss more audio, think it would have kept me focused and involved more. The objective is clear, finish the level with the things given, figure out ways to use them and keep in mind... Gravity and speed! A bit more of an introduction be it with voice, text, story or alike would make it more attracting for me personally, it depends however on the audience you aim for. |
| Oct 21 14:22:36 | 9m 14s | The Final Claw | ♥ 0 | I understood the concept quick, did not read the instruction at first as I do try to play tutorials or figure things out myself. The graphics are clear, the objective and type of game as well. The buying upgrades is not a new concept which has me not score innovation high- its used a lot in ld games and not attractive to me... They CAN be attractive, but the balance of the game is a bit off. The battery thing goes quite fast, reaching one piece every now and then was already difficult for me. There is however not a losing condition far as I played, which neutralizes the balance issues. I would advice to try and play test it more, keeping in mind with a game jam one wants to go fast to see more upgrades. Sometimes I thought the music either was about to crash or that the odd happenings were intended as an old tech vibe- I am not sure. |
| Oct 21 14:29:35 | 6m 59s | Rail Switcher | ♥ 0 | So... I like the concept, the bugs in question you have already mentioned. What I struggled with is the bright green background... And figuring out if a train is red or pink. For me they somehow seemed veryyy the same and as far as I know I am not colorblind. I really liked the music, and the old way of switching the tracks. While the speeding up is a bug it did make it more challenging in a way as I had to jump quicker into action in mostly those bits. I would be curious to different levels. Very nice you had a form of tutorial in it! |
| Oct 21 14:36:46 | 7m 11s | OadText | ♥ 1 | HOLY FRICK. Okay, @wouter52 was nerding out next to me while I was gasping. That is a very cool way to show the theme! As far as I see it, it is a mechanic that could be used for a game, not a game itself. You could add puzzles in it that have you go to and through certain pages, add Simon says to it etc. But the idea? I really liked it. |
| Oct 21 14:45:04 | 8m 18s | Game & Roots Two-Flavor | ♥ 1 | Two?? I like the concept, the theme connection is clear. The controls are very simplistic and easy. The two points of feedback I have... The first is technical, the https. I am not good with pcs, so if my SO ( @wouter52 ) had not said it was safe I would have stopped trying. The other? Sound... I notice soon as there is no sound staying focused is difficult. The graphics were clear and nice, and... Two games??? 😆 |
