Dec 15 07:34:00 Guardian A great sense of dread came over me in certain moments, so the game definitely has mood going for it. Love the concept. And the gameplay works. The one issue I'd love to see fixed somehow in an expanded version is that once you've moved, you can't undo. In some cases I thought I was striking an enemy but instead I just moved and I wished I could undo that. Also being able to restart the level at any point would be good, but again - for a later date. Overall a fantastic entry and incredible that it was done in 72. Congrats!
Dec 15 07:42:00 8m 00s Hedgie The Explorer I had fun with this! It was cool to try to get every berry in the level. I did have trouble with the level that has steps, but I figured out the solution eventually. Nice work! Thanks for sharing and congrats on finishing!
Dec 15 07:52:00 10m 00s Polygonal Expansion Great work in keeping with the theme. There are some issues. The simplest to solve would be placing the cursor on the main menu over "Play" to begin instead of the BPM (since you shouldn't alter BPM anyway).

It's a really interesting style and I loved how beautiful it was to watch (made it hard to concentrate at times - ha!). I didn't do very well, but I can tell it's the kind of game that takes practice. Thanks for sharing and congrats on submitting!
Dec 15 08:09:00 17m 00s Journal of a Lifetrap Love the art style and the concept for the game, but "those hit boxes" as many have mentioned. I played the web version so maybe it didn't get the update, but woof - that was a tough love story!
Dec 15 08:28:00 19m 00s Organ-izer Thanks for rating Get It Out! I appreciate the feedback. Hoping I can do a post-compo version with more content, but we'll see. This game was fun and simple. The two button controls made sense and were engaging. I feel like sometimes you have to let them die, which means it's more luck than anything. That said, I liked the little characters and their cute deaths. Lived to be 75! Thanks for sharing and congrats on submitting!
Dec 15 08:36:00 8m 00s neon fall My first time through I didn't know WHAT was going on. Haha. It was moving crazy fast and I wasn't getting bigger. The second time through I was more prepared. I really had a lot of fun and went from a high score of three to NINE! I definitely enjoyed myself and congrats to you and your son on building a fun game together!
Dec 15 08:53:00 17m 00s It's Cupid, Stupid Thanks for rating Get It Out!!! I enjoyed this a lot. Obviously the ending text bug isn't the best situation, but I liked the endings I got and I love the intro! I must have played it 10 times at least and FINALLY got past the ducks, so I think I did pretty well. Thanks for sharing and congrats on submitting!
Dec 15 09:09:00 16m 00s Hope I really liked the way this game looks a lot. The control system is a little hard for me because the scroll wheel is sort of difficult. But it's a really novel use for it and I'm excited by it overall. :) Thanks for sharing and congrats on finishing!!!
Dec 16 04:57:00 19h 48m Snake Scape Nice work! Thanks again for rating and commenting on Get It Out!!! The music here was solid enough. I liked the art and the gameplay was neat. The one level that has already been mentioned is pretty tough. My suggestion would be to make those tiles the numbers instead of looking like everything else. It does come as a surprise and I imagine if you played on hard you'd definitely die on that level just because you're not prepared.

I think I made it through most of the game but it froze (playing web version) towards the end.

Again, great job and congrats on finishing! :D
Dec 16 06:55:00 1h 58m Space Mitosis Thanks for swinging by and rating/commenting on Get It Out! I'm glad you liked the humor. :D This was a cool experience. I definitely needed the controls written down, so thank you for putting that in, but once I got rolling I made it to the end. Definitely a fun little game and the music totally fit the mood. Thanks for sharing and congrats on finishing!
Dec 16 07:14:00 19m 00s Colony 3028 Thanks for playing and rating GET IT OUT!!! I'm glad you liked it! This was really impressive! I don't know how you were able to get it done so fast - very cool! The only problem I had was that it can be hard to keep the things you want in your view due to the controls. But game play was simple and effective and I had fun keeping everything away from my space shuttle. Haha. Thanks for sharing and congrats on finishing!!!
Dec 17 00:03:00 16h 49m Mystic Temple Nicely done! As someone who's tried to make a speedy autorunner in flash before I know how difficult that can be. Way to make it happen in such a short time limit. The controls were good, but a little difficult and the enemies could have been a little more spread out, but I really thought this was a very solid entry and made great use of both themes! Thanks for sharing and congrats on finishing!
Dec 17 00:29:00 26m 00s Don't Look Back Congrats on your first LD! I would echo some of what's already been said. It looks like the viewport for the later rooms weren't adjusted so your player is constantly at the edge of the screen instead of the middle like in the first two. It's an easy bug to get in GameMaker, so I don't hold that against you. The game is pretty short and sweet and the controls fit the theme, so well done! Congrats on finishing and welcome!
Dec 17 00:40:00 11m 00s Breathing Dark I really liked this. The concept is strong and you execute it well. The music was good and the game is complex and simple at the same time. I'd love to see a tutorial like people said and to have a more fleshed out version of this. I really hope you do a post-jam version and keep working on it. Congrats and thanks for sharing!
Dec 17 00:54:00 14m 00s Melissa - A Game of Choice Thanks for stopping by and rating my game! :) This was pretty crazy! I would've liked a little more variety in the choice as people have mentioned or to know what I was choosing, but I guess that's kind of the point. The music is fantastic and the mood is really clear and incredible. Thanks for sharing and great work!
Dec 17 08:05:00 7h 11m Snowman's Christmas Thanks for rating and commenting on GET IT OUT!!! I had fun playing this! I thought it was a good use of the theme and that last level was TOUGH. Nice work on the music and graphics. Overall it was a good time. Thanks for sharing and congrats on finishing! :)
Dec 17 08:13:00 8m 00s Wesh Grow Thanks for taking the time to review and comment on GET IT OUT!!! Hopefully I'll have time to take it further eventually. There were good levels here, but I felt like the controls were pretty difficult, even though I understood that they were the thrusters. Having right turn you left and vice versa definitely took some getting used to. That said it was still a cool control style and the music was fun. :) Thanks for sharing and congrats on finishing!
Dec 17 08:22:00 9m 00s Life... yet, Death! I liked this a lot. I think it's one of my favorites that I've played so far. My controls were a little wonky, but I played in fullscreen so maybe that was the problem (didn't see you recommended windowed until after. Other than that I think if you keep developing this a slow introduction to each death strike would be useful. As would button shortcuts. Overall though, it was very entertaining and a lot of fun. Great work and congrats on finishing!
Dec 17 08:27:00 5m 00s Chop Chop Definitely liked this. I saw you post it on facebook when you finished and I was like "That looks fun." Very cool idea. I liked the music I liked the sound effects. HL3!? Thanks for sharing, great job, and I hope you expand it into something more outside of the jam! Congrats!
Dec 17 08:32:00 5m 00s Bitrun Very simple. Very fun. It fits the theme and it gets the job done. What more can you ask for? It's definitely an addictive game that kept me coming back multiple times to try to improve. I love the idea of the shield and the controls were very tight which was great. Cool that you ported it to iOS. That seems like a great platform. Congrats on finishing and thanks for sharing!
Dec 17 08:49:00 17m 00s Grazing Hell Great stuff. I really liked the art style - very solid. The game controls were tight and easy to pick up but fun to play with. This is a great entry. Congrats on finishing and thanks for sharing!
Dec 17 09:06:00 17m 00s INFERNO Loved it. The art was kickass and the gameplay was fun. Definitely the kind of game that I want to come back to later. It reminded me a lot of a Suda51 game. I really liked the LEVEL UP menu and the change of music. Really the game had a level of presentation that is really nice. Well done and congrats on finishing!
Dec 18 20:08:00 35h 02m Kill the Christmas Trees OH NO MY BONES! Simple, but quick. The tree sound was a little loud and the game could use a counter so that you know how many trees you're chopping/how far you are, but those can be added later. I actually hopped over the ending the first time I played - lol! Nice job!
Dec 19 23:31:00 27h 23m Ortogonalis This was awesome! Thank you for playing, rating, and commenting on GET IT OUT!!! I had such a good time playing this. My score was 2861! It's such a simple game and completely engaging. I'd love to see you branch out with it and make the maps larger as the game goes on. So fun! Really well done. Congrats on finishing! Can't wait to see how it does. :)
Dec 19 23:36:00 5m 00s Arkanika This is a really cool idea. I love the combination of Pong and Arkanoid - it's great! With a little more time, I'd love to see the bricks drop powerups much like modern Arkanoid. There are some things that you could enhance too with even more polish (think like Rocket League's explosion when you score a goal). Those are for a later time, though. This entry is fantastic as is and I really enjoyed playing it. Thanks for rating and commenting on GET IT OUT!!! I'm glad you enjoyed it. And congrats on finishing!!!
Dec 20 06:50:00 7h 14m ORB LORDS This may be the best game I've played in the jam so far. Reminded me of being a kid and playing Sonic Spinball on the Genesis. Really well done. Loved the music and the art. Just all around very very cool. Thanks for sharing and congrats on finishing!
Dec 20 07:06:00 16m 00s Roto Really cool. The level design was nice. Loved the names for all of the levels. It felt very Thomas Was Alone in a lot of ways. I would've loved more levels, so hopefully you'll get a chance to continue working on the project!

Thanks for sharing and congrats on finishing!

Also, I would love a link to the music so that we could hear what it was SUPPOSED to sound like. ;)
Dec 20 07:18:00 12m 00s Punch Beat I thought the animation was cool and the idea is a lot of fun. Played for a while, but I wasn't sure how the music was sync'ing up or what role it was playing. I think it just makes a more elaborate song as you go, but mine seemed kind of out of sync. Not sure why. In any case, I had fun playing it and I hope you had fun making it! Thanks for sharing and congrats on finishing!!!
Dec 20 07:28:00 10m 00s Neon City Getaway This was sweet. Love that you ported it to Android already - I may have to get this for my phone! :) The music is really solid. I love the purple, too. As a thought, maybe if you break certain distances you have the option of restarting with different cars. Even if it's just aesthetic it might add to that sense of satisfaction/completion and keep people trying. Really great entry. Thanks for sharing and congrats on finishing! :)
Dec 20 07:38:00 10m 00s The Pits of Mazow A good amount of gameplay out of the two buttons. I liked the dynamic of the jump being a known amount so that changing in midair made it really interesting. Thanks for sharing and I hope you keep working on it. :)
Dec 20 07:51:00 13m 00s Last Minute Beard This is the best. Hahaha. I love the sound effects. Solid gameplay. Solid scoring. This was a nice surprise. Thank you for making this. Amazing. 10/10. Would beard again.
Dec 20 08:03:00 12m 00s Get Off, Cat! Definitely kept me interested and had my attention. I failed pretty quickly the first time, but the second time I beat it. Really fun and a good idea! Thanks for sharing and congrats on finishing!
Dec 20 08:38:00 35m 00s Kitty McBlubberton Glad you two were able to finish! It took me a while to get the hang of it but eventually I made it to the goal with only being 7kg! Haha. Took a while though because those cakes kept flying in! Hope you had fun, thanks for sharing, and congrats!
Dec 21 07:26:00 22h 48m Auxochrome I'm giving thorough feedback on this because you asked for it in your post. Normally I wouldn't be this detailed. I like the ideas here, but the execution is rough.

The controls could use some work. Personally I think the movement speed is a little too fast and the gun should definitely not require constant clicking. Since you're not limiting ammo, there's no reason for it not to be a constant flow with a small delay. The clicking is especially tiresome due to how much health the enemies have.

Lower the enemy health and change the numbers from always being 99 for the next upgrade to having it scale. Each upgrade should be harder to get to than the last, and also it should be a desirable upgrade. Losing your jump kinda sucks, a better/newer/cooler weapon would be nice to compensate. I also ran into a problem where I never reached my "ultimate form" and instead reverted to the original state. I tried going through again and hit the same issue. My wrist/finger hurt too much to keep playing for a third shot.

I like the stuff that the big boss says, but I spent a lot of time zoomed in, so it was sort of lost on me.

I like the chip tune sounds and music, but there's too much crunch to it and that constant popping sound makes it hard for people to listen to and hard on speakers.

The art is fine, but I agree with the person who said the doors don't make sense. I spent a lot of time trying to figure out where to go before I figured out that shooting the little guys gave me health and that I didn't need to go anywhere. Strive for clarity in your level design. Doors to nowhere will tend to confuse people.

Going back to the picking up the health/upgrade juice/blood, separate the health into health drops. Don't make it the same number as the upgrade - it gets confusing. Especially since you want the upgrade to go down to 0 but aesthetically it's strange to want your health at 0.

It's a good idea and I think there's a really fun game there, but right now those are the major points I would work on before trying to add levels or anything else that would expand the game length-wise.

Hope this helps and sorry about the length. Congrats on finishing!
Dec 21 07:45:00 19m 00s Battle For Bedroom Thanks for playing, rating, and commenting on GET IT OUT!!! I really appreciated the feedback. This was a fun play and that's saying a lot since I was trying it by myself. Lol. I thought the music was well done and the art was solid. The idea of hitting buttons to push the wall is a really cool mechanic that I don't think I've seen before and really pushed the theme. Definitely would love to see this fleshed out a bit more but I'm glad you were able to finish in time. Thanks for sharing and congrats!
Dec 21 08:16:00 31m 00s SUPER SCIENCE CORP Thanks for playing, voting, and commenting on GET IT OUT!!! I really appreciate it and plus it gave me the change to play your entry! I had a lot of fun. The upgrade system worked well, the enemies had enough individuality so I wasn't bored, and the VO was great. It reminded me a lot of the style or Portal or The Stanley Parable. Definitely had that same feel going for it. I enjoyed the art too. Also I think this is a really good example of a game that can have mood (those footsteps were a nice touch) AND humor (the VO and some of the enemy audio).

Thanks for sharing and congrats on finishing! :D
Dec 21 08:28:00 12m 00s Zap Runagain Nice parallaxing! I felt the gameplay was solid, though there were times that I couldn't prepare for being attacked and was kind of trapped into dying. So I guess my only note would be on balancing that a little better, so that it only gets that hard the longer you've played.

Overall I think this is a fun experience taking from some known mechanics and adding a fun twist to it. The music and sound effects were fun as well. Nice work and congrats on finishing!
Jan 2 02:15:00 281h 47m There's No Going Back Really solid stuff. I'm not sure sliding forward is very helpful in this instance. It seems to only hurt the player. I love the use of the two button theme, but since you use escape to access the menu, it seems like it's not really necessary to keep it to two buttons there. The music is cool and the mood is solid. I would work with the camera a little bit, there were a few too many times that I was dying just because there was no way at all to see what I was up against. Otherwise, cool level designs and I love that you included an editor! Nice work!
